pairing: 141 x pharmacist!Reader

Healthcare professionals never get sick. They just don't. That's why when you woke up with a sore throat, swollen and painful lymph nodes, and a headache, you silently cursed everything in the universe. The last few days you were more tired than usual but nothing out of the ordinary. You were supposed to report to the pharmacy at 07:00 hours but you knew you weren't going to make it there. You groggily grabbed your phone and made a few phone calls. Eventually, after an hour, you were able to get one of your civilian pharmacist colleagues to fill in for you. "Thanks, Dr. Stewart, I already notified security and the techs that you'll be coming in today," you hoarsely croaked out and hung up the phone.
Once everything was in order, you put a plain shirt and pants on and bundled yourself in a blanket. You knew that you should go visit the doctor to find out what was wrong. You brushed your teeth to have a semblance of normalcy but to put it politely, you looked like hell. Before you left, you made sure to find a medical mask, just in case whatever you had was contagious. You slipped on some shoes and exited your quarters to the medical wing.
As you walked, you ignored the bewildered looks of the soldiers as they passed. Some gave you a quick, "Good morning, Captain," and you weakly gave them a wave. Eventually, you could see Captain Price emerge from an adjoining hallway and he locked eyes with you. "Captain L/N, heard you were missing from the pharmacy today," he said and you moved to the side of the hallway to allow others to walk. "Hi John, just feeling under the weather, should be back tomorrow," you said softly. You could see the pity in his eyes as you used your elbow to cough. "Just let me know if you need anything, I'll personally have the 141 deliver anything," he said kindly and allowed you to continue to the doctor.
Despite being a pharmacist, you hated going to the doctor. Something about the sterility of the environment made you uneasy. "Ah Captain, funny seeing you here," the doctor commented as she entered. You smiled, she was one of your better friends in this department and you relaxed upon seeing her. "Definitely don't want to under these circumstances," you replied and she motioned for you to take off your mask so she could begin examining you. As soon as you opened your mouth, you could tell she knew what was wrong with you.
"What is it?" you asked and she dialed a number on the medical wing's phone. "Oh love, I think you have mononucleosis. I'm going to run some blood work and have a test done but it's pretty certain," she spoke and you were surprised. "Isn't that only spread through direct contact or saliva?" you asked. It was a silly question as mononucleosis was also known as the kissing disease but you wanted extra confirmation. "It can be or it can be spread by sharing utensils or drinks," she said and you internally facepalmed. You silently regretted going out for drinks with your techs and trying everyone's drinks. "It usually takes about 1-2 months to show symptoms," she continued, "there is no treatment, only rest, liquids, and paracetamol."
After two hours of waiting for your results with the phlebotomist, your doctor's suspicions were confirmed. "Sorry Captain," the phlebotomist said and sent you back to your room with a bottle of paracetamol and some Liquid IV. As you changed into pajamas, you made sure to notify your staff of your diagnosis and promised you'd be back at work as soon as your fever broke. Having nothing else to do, you settled back into bed and grabbed a book for the long days of recovery ahead.
You were almost finished with your book when you heard a knock on your door. "Coming," you called and put an Army sweatshirt on before opening it. At the door were four men who you immediately recognized as the 141. You almost laughed when you saw them all wearing matching balaclavas with a skeleton painted on them. Better safe than sorry, I guess. "What are you guys doing here?" you asked as you held the door partially open. "Heard our favorite pharmacist was sick so we brought you some things," Gaz smiled at you and you noticed a small bag of goodies in Soap's hands. "What you got anyways?" Soap asked as he handed you the bag. "Don't laugh but I have mono," you said and everyone took a step back. "I promise I'm not contagious but no kissing and sharing drinks for me for a little while," you joked and you could see everyone take a deep breath. You invited them inside your room to continue the conversation.
As they walked into your room they admired the decor. Unlike some other officers, the base was your permanent housing arrangement. You decided to make it as much of a home as possible. This included bringing in carpets for the cold tile floors, a bookshelf filled with pharmacy textbooks and novels in various languages, and other little trinkets. You even had a few pictures of your favorite people including your proud parents. You sat on the bed and the men cozied themselves on the carpet and your small loveseat. You allowed everyone a moment to settle as you could see them eye your decor. Everyone seemed to find something that peaked their interest. Simon studied your posters of famous art pieces, Gaz tried to figure out the locations of the postcards from your uni pharmacy friends, and Soap was intensely looking at the colorful pillows that adorned your bed. "Quite a setup you have here," Price commented as he thumbed through your Russian copy of Wuthering Heights. "Might as well make this place a home," you smiled and pulled a blanket around yourself.
"Do you know how you got it?" Ghost spoke up suddenly. "Well it might have been my fault but it was probably when I took my techs to a pub off-base," you sheepishly answered. "It was stupid but we all thought it would be a great idea to share drinks," you continued. "I thought it was the kissing disease," Gaz commented as you finished your story. You laughed lightly before responding. "That's one of the easiest ways to get it but anything with saliva contact spreads it," you began, "Plus there's no significant other I would have to worry about, Sergeant" Suspiciously, they all smiled and you couldn't understand why they were so invested in your love life.
"Anyways how have you been?" you asked and Price was the first one to speak up. "Back again for a while but we still miss your patient care in the pharmacy," he replied and everyone nodded their heads in response. "Your friend doesn't know what they're doin," Soap pitched in, "he just gives us our prescriptions without even a hello." Your smile faltered slightly, you were upset to hear this is how he treated your patients. "I'll be back soon, I promise," you responded. After a lull of silence, you yawned as today's events had tired you out. "You should open the bag," Ghost mentioned and you suddenly remembered the gift they put together.
You grabbed the small brown bag that sat next to you and poured its contents out on your duvet. Inside, they had put some snacks from the vending machine, bags of tea, and a crudely drawn picture of what looked like the members of the 141. "Oh thank you all," you gasped and went to pick up the drawing. "Why this though?" you asked and saw four figures carrying a comically sized pill bottle to what looked like you with a mask and blanket. "What I thought it was funny," Soap said defensively and you smiled. "I'll be sure to frame this one," you said before setting it back down. Despite being cold-hearted soldiers, they did some nice things sometimes. Eventually after some more light conversation, they could tell you needed some rest and saw themselves out. "Thanks again for stopping by," you called as they exited. "Anytime," Price said before he closed your room's door.
As they walked down the hall, you could hear their conversation through the thin wall. "You see that picture of them from uni?" you heard Gaz ask. "Ye the one next to the bookshelf, right?" Soap responded. "Didn't know that wearing a bathing suit with a pharmacy coat was part of the uniform," you heard Gaz say and your eyes shot to the aforementioned photo. You stood there, two other friends from pharmacy school, on the beaches of Cornwall only wearing a bathing suit and your white coat. Next time you invite someone over, you'll be sure to hide that photo.

Blacked Last Night iv
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
"For the last time, mum..! don't wanna go." Vivi tapped her finger on her phone as she chewed a bit on her nail, she waited to hear her mother's voice from her phone again. She was looking around her room searching for a pair of pants as her mother called her about going to her aunt Clara's wedding, she didn't know if her aunt knew about her phobia but hopefully she had some sense of what she was going through. Granted she hasn’t seen her aunt since she was sixteen but she still hoped someone told her about her phobia.
"She wants to see you again, you know that your aunt hasn't seen you in three years." Her mother's voice sounded slightly more tired than she remembered, she could hear a can opening and felt a small smile play at her lips. Her father cracking open a can of beer was something she was used to, either beer or soda, he was never a wine person; always complaining about how strong it was. Vivi didn’t mind it personally but that was her opinion that she didn’t tell her father.
"Does she know about my agoraphobia?" Vivi ran a hand through her hair as she pulled on a pair of jeans, though some people would hardly be awake at 6:00. It was the only way she could get breakfast and not be bothered or bump into other students.
"She does, and I've tried telling her that but she says that she'll still be heartbroken if you don't attend." Her mother sounded sympathetic and a sinking feeling came to her stomach, she could possibly have a plus one but she had no mate…okay well she supposed that was a lie but Michael Gavey seemed like the person to not go to a wedding, also she didn’t want people to confuse them for dating.
“Mum…can I bring someone?” She tapped her foot and put a finger to her lip and tapped on it till she answered.
“Yes, though she says that she’ll have to meet the person first.” Then came the question that she expected;
“Who are you thinking of bringing?” Vivi pressed her lips together and tried not to stutter.
“A…friend.” She put on her shoes and popped a pill into her mouth, swallowing it and hanging up after she said she loved her mum.
Okay so…she supposed now she should probably ask Michael Gavey if he wants to come to a wedding.
::: ::: ::: ::: ::: ::: ::: ::: ::: ::: ::: ::: ::: ::: ::: ::: ::: ::: ::: ::: ::: ::: ::: ::: ::: :::
“Explain to me again…why the hell are you inviting me to a wedding? Barely know you.” Michael glanced at Vivi as they both spoke in quietly in their French class, they both sat a bit distantly from the other students in the class yet close enough to each other to talk.
“My aunt wants me to go and I don’t wanna go alone…also there’s the possibility that she probably won’t shut it about me being with someone since she did it last time…” That time she made eye contact with him and looked back down; she seemed almost more nervous than she was yesterday, but that could be due to her agoraphobia and not being comfortable in a class.
“Don’t you have a mate to bring?” He glanced at her and she blinked before shaking her head.
“Who’d want to be friends with someone who barely leaves her dorm?” She looked back at her paper and continued writing, a small sense of relatability bubbled in him, he’d always ask himself that. ‘Who’d be friends with the boy with glasses and who is brilliant at math?’ He used to think that it was Oliver who was that friend but well…clearly not. He felt almost embarrassed as he spoke:
“Suppose you’re a Norman no-mates too then?” He heard her stop writing and looked to see her slightly frozen but she swallowed and nodded before speaking:
“Most of them stopped being there when my phobia got worse, I tried going to parties with them but I just kept feeling nauseous and wanting to leave. I kept trying to go to parties with them but I think it became worse…better to just not go to parties than feel like you’re drowning in people.” She swallowed and looked down, picking back up her pencil and playing with the eraser.
“Probably a stupid thing to say but yea…I have no mates anymore, I can think the same goes for you?” His throat felt dry as he nodded and wrote his notes as he spoke.
“Had a friend back in school but they went to a different college, then Oliver came and I thought I had a mate but he liked the posh cunts more.”
Making friends for Michael was always not something he enjoyed; he was an outsider even if he was posh like them, he always resented how it felt like they felt righteous for something that their parents payed for.
“So…Yea, no friends.” It was silence for a moment, say for when Michael tried pronouncing ‘Developer’ in French, to no avail.
“It’s ‘Révélateur‘.” He looked at Vivi who looked up from her notes, he scrunched his lips and took in a breath.
“Yeah I know, just it’s hard to pronounce.” Michael only knew a bit of French and Spanish but he was mostly more good at Spanish than French.
An idea seemed to have come to Vivi as she leaned in and looked at his notes, Michael felt oddly hot having her near him. Enough to where she could whisper into his ear.
“Why don’t we do something? You go with me to the wedding…and maybe help with my agoraphobia, then I’ll help you with French and anything you’d struggling with.” He raised a brow when she mentioned her agoraphobia.
“I…I want to be able to at least get it under control by the time the wedding comes up, last wedding I went to, I was near a panic. Don’t know if I can have it go away fully but I would like to try and have it a bit more under control.” She moved away and played with a loose string from her shirt, he thought about it for a moment and offered his hand.
“Fine then…as long as you also maybe help me with another thing; help maybe do something to Quick.” It was Vivi’s turn to raise a brow and look at him, granted what he wanted to do wasn’t horrible but…still he wanted her to agree to it.
“Okay then…as long as it doesn’t include murder then I promise I’ll help.” She offered her pinky and he suppressed a smile and took her pinky, she returned his smile and nodded.
“Suppose that makes us sort of friends?” Vivi looked at him and he shrugged, her eyes showed curiosity and he thought about it for a moment before nodded and offering her a grin.
“You’re my mate then…though if we go through this wedding and revenge on Oliver, we’ll still be friends.” She nodded and took his hand again, squeezing it.
“Michael Gavey you’re my mate.”

Bucky x little reader! Loves playing with his dogtags and loves wearing them, whenever he goes on a mission or something ( or just leaves to go to the store) she always gives them a kiss to keep him
this is so cute my god.
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Reader
Warnings: fluff, kinda angst at the end, mentions of missions, mentions of cglre
Word Count: 490
Dog Tags
It started about a month after they had started seeing each other. You guys had met and immediately started a sort of caregiver relationship, where he took care of you and you took care of him, just a little differently. Which you both loved. It was hard for you both when he went on missions because you never knew if it would be a week, or a month, or even more. So one day Bucky thought of an idea, he wanted to give his baby his dog tags. So he was going to sit you down a day before he was supposed to leave. He didn't want to do something simple, he was going to take you to dinner and then back to your apartment and give you as much love as he could before he were to leave at 4:00 in the morning.
He texted you to be ready around 2:30 pm, he knew that way you would've had your nap, he didn't want a cranky baby today. Once he got to your apartment, he walked up the steps, flowers in hand, as well as a new stuffie he made at a build-a-bear. He knocked at your door, he smiled to himself once he heard your little pitter patter towards the door. You opened it all giddy and happy, ``Hiya mister!`` He quickly pulled you into a hug, ``Hi baby, I brought you a couple things. Now I know this Teddys uniform isn't exactly the same as daddy's was, but its close-`` ``Wait... why are your dog tags on the teddy? You never take those off``. He smiled down at you, ``Well, angel. Ive been thinking, I know how hard it is for you when im away and how much you miss me. So I figured, ill give you a teddy with a military uniform with my dog tags on him, so im extra close to you when I can't actually be close to you.`` Once he handed you the teddy, he immediately noticed the tears streaming down your face. You quickly sniffled and held the teddy close to you. ``I love him.. Thank you so much!``
It had been 2 weeks now, and Bucky was still gone. You cuddled your teddy every night, which you had named Sergeant Barnes. It was around 1 in the morning and you just couldn't sleep, so you decided to take the dog tags off your stuffie and put them on. Once they were on you grabbed them and held them close to your heart and just cried. You missed Bucky, a lot, and you had no clue when he'd be home. So for now all you had was your stuffie, the dying flowers he got you 2 weeks prior, and his dog tags. You eventually woke up, not remembering falling asleep, you grabbed his dog tags and kissed them good morning. The same way you did when Bucky was home.

cant help falling | choi soobin
pairing: secret! bf! soobin x fem! reader
word count: 970
genre/warnings: fluff, one swear word + mentions of food
summary: in which you sneak out to get food with soobin !
—note: inspired by soobin’s parts in the ‘loser = lover’ mv!!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
𖤐 ྀ
10:00 .. 10:30 .. 11:00
you told soobin to come get you around 10:45 since you knew your parents would be asleep by then, but it was already 11pm and he was showing no signs of arriving.
until you heard light knock on your window.
you carefully opened your blinds to your smiling boyfriend. you lifted the window a little bit before realizing that there was no way he was going to fit through your window.
“can i just meet you outside ?? you’re definitely not gonna fit through my window unless i take the whole thing out”
“then take the whole thing out ?? it’s that easy y/n🙄”
“soobin, imagine my parents walking into my room just to see my window completely opened up. do you think they’d believe that i just ‘needed some air’”
“probably not but we have to live life on the edge man”
“im literally living life on the edge just by having you here right now, i dont need anymore edge” you sigh and continue “but i still wanna go get some food so im jumping outta here😁”
“did you not just say you cant fit”
“i did,, thats why im going out my front door”
“ARE YOU DUMB ??? YOUR FLOORS ARE HARDWOOD AND THEY’RE MAD CREEKY YOU ARE NOT GETTING CAUGHT TODAY”
“but-”
“open this window all the way right now, or else i will”
“but-”
“do it”
“but-”
“im actually going to smack you right now, just do it y/n”
“fine🙄🙄”
you cautiously unhatched the top part of window and set it under your blanket before climbing out and stepping onto the ladder soobin was previously standing on. you then quickly close the blinds as best as you could and made your way down the ladder.
“dude if we get caught my parents are gonna KILL me”
“dont you think they’d love me though” soobin says as the two of you carefully take the ladder and hide it in the bushes next to your house
“you really think you’d get a chance to properly introduce yourself after getting caught sneaking me out??” you say laughing
“fair point” he says reaching out for you hand
you lace your fingers with his and head to his car, which he cleverly parked well away from your house.
“okay so where to?”
“hmm how about ‘downtowner’? they just opened it last week and ive been wanting to go!”
“im down, yeonjun said the fries are really good”
10 minutes later, the two of you arrived at the diner and made your way in. after ordering your food, you look at soobin for a second, thinking about what had gotten into you when you said yes to dating him. you knew extremely well that your parents didnt want you dating because you had been told off a countless amount of times for even talking about couples in movies, but you really liked soobin and what your parents didnt know couldnt hurt them, right?
as your food arrived, you were quickly snapped out of your thoughts. soobin took notice to this and asked you what was up. “i was thinking about why i said yes to dating you” you say about to take a bite out of your food
“hey now, are you rethinking your choices😐? after i snuck out of my house to get you out of yours😐? and after i agreed to pay for this food we’re about to eat😐?” he says furrowing his brows and squinting at you
“no soobin, im just wondering what got into me. i usually listen to my parents all the time, but i didnt with you?? i never snuck out before i started dating you”
“oh my gosh is my girlfriend in her bad girl era?!” he says laughing
you throw a fry at him, but he catches it and takes a bite. “YO WAIT THESE ARE SO GOOD, YEONJUN DIDNT LIE” you then take a bite out of your own and your eyes immediately widen “OH MY GOD”
the two of you devour your food and soon enough, both of your plates were empty. the waiter came to collect your plates and placed the check on the table as well.
soobin put his hand in his pocket to take his wallet out and paused. he checked his other pockets, but still nothing. “umm haha so update on my life, i dont have my wallet” he whispered to you.
your eyes widen, but you still smile at him to make sure that the waiter didnt suspect anything of the two of you. “haha funny joke soobin,, please tell me you’re joking”
“y/n i really fucking wish i was”
you sigh and look your boyfriend in the eyes “you think we can make a run for it?”
“y/n?!” he whisper yelled “okay nevermind this might be the only choice we have”
“okay well.. on the count of three?” soobin nods and you signal one with your finger. then two. and finally, “THREE!” you yell and sprint out of the diner as soobin quickly ran after you.
the waiter that had served you immediately ran after the two of you, yelling about how you didnt pay and how he was gonna call the cops on you if you didnt come back and pay, but you didnt care. you felt free. soobin caught up and flashed a smile at you, which you returned extra brightly.
soon enough you got to his car. he jumped into the trunk, quickly helping you up. breathing heavily, the two of you laid down, waiting for the waiter to turn back around.
soobin turned towards you and cupped your cheek, smiling. “all this and you still wanna be with me?” you put your hand on top of his and smile back at him. “there’s no one else i’d do this with”

Undercovers (Bucky Barnes x Reader) - Part Five
Tumblr media
Pairing: Bucky Barnes x Reader
Summary: Reader and Bucky are on an undercover mission as husband and wife, but she hates him and by accident begins a game of “Who Can Fake Better”.
Warnings: very brief nudity, cannon typical violence, minors not allowed to interact!!!
Part One
Part Two
Part Three
Part Four
Tumblr media
You woke up the next morning hating yourself for every bit of what you had let Bucky do the night before. The regret panging through your chest was nearly unbearable. You sighed and pulled the white shirt off the floor to slip on over your bare chest. With feet hitting the cold marble floor of the hotel room, you walked to the bathroom.
Bucky was still passed out in the bed, taking in deep breaths as he slept. The man looked remarkedly peaceful for what you had done the night before. Right now, he was winning the game. What he had willfully manipulated you into doing was unspeakable. Even worse, what would the team say when they found out about what happened during this mission.
This was all Steve’s fault. He had forced you into this “situation” and not stopped it when another twist came. It had to be this with the target or his men watching the hotel room. That didn’t make this any easier. It was difficult to admit that you might actually enjoy Bucky’s presence. His rare smile. The way he kissed you like nothing else was left in the world but your lips.
Would it really be that bad if you liked him?
You brushed off the tough thought and began to brush your teeth. You met your own gaze in the mirror and shuddered with self-hatred. He hadn’t forced you into it. By the time the two of you were back in the hotel room, it felt right. The lingering regret was all about how you could go back to hating him.
“You okay, Sarah?” Bucky stood in the doorway, fully clothed unlike the last night.
You looked back at him and nodded. A wordless response. He could tell by the regret in your eyes and determined that it would be best to not push the boundaries that were being set. After getting ready for the morning in silence, both of you were discreetly slipping your gun into the blazer pocket when another text rang from Steve. A reminder to not forget about the meeting where you would be seeing the target today.
You would be going into separate meetings for the first two sessions then rejoining each other for lunch at the same table as the previous night. This was an unexpected moment to breathe after last night. The plan originally had you together in the sessions, yet this made more sense after the change in your job description.
Tumblr media
After the two slow sessions, you met for lunch. Taking a seat at the table where you had sat last night, Marcus was already sitting when you arrived. It took to seconds to recognize who was with him, Eric Miller. This was concerning at best. A total nightmare at worst. Bucky, where are you?
Almost as if you had called him, he appeared behind you. You hated how he could appear out of nowhere without a sound being made. You glanced up to him from the chair you were seated in. You glanced to Eric Miller which received a tiny nod from Bucky. This was where things began to get dirty. Would you risk taking Eric and Marcus down in a room full of people or wait until the meeting time later. Or had they already exchanged the codes and doom was only impending.
The lunch dragged on forever with white lies being told back and forth between you and Marcus. No intel was gained after the hour-long lunch. It was almost as if they were playing with you and Bucky. An uneasiness continued to settle into your chest. Something was off here. It was only an hour before the codes were “supposedly” being exchanged in the hotel parking lot.
When 1:00 pm came, Marcus and Eric both excused themselves as if they were on a timer. You waited for them to be out of earshot. They both exited through the tall conference room doors.  Things were about to get messy.
“I think I left something in the car, Chris.” You took Bucky’s hand and murmured. His eyes locked with your own. He inferred exactly what you were saying. Truly, you had been dropped off and there was no car in the parking lot. This was only a ploy to get you out of the next session and into the parking lot where the codes were being exchanged.
           “I’ll come with you.”
You both got up out of your respective chairs and headed towards the parking lot. You were too far behind Marcus and Eric. You broke into a running pace with Bucky right on your heels. This could be too late already. You drew your gun and headed out the door. The hotel security guards were right behind you. Great… only making this more difficult.
Bucky ignored the presences as they called to the both of you.
Marcus and Eric stood by a black SUV. Marcus was taking a suitcase from Eric when you approached them. Marcus took the suitcase and Eric drew a gun quickly. Your blood ran cold. He didn’t even waste a second and fired a shot at you. Bucky jumped in front of you and blocked the bullet with his vibranium arm. It ricocheted off and hit the SUV with a metallic ping.
You didn’t take a chance and shot Eric in the knee without a second thought. Marcus dropped the suitcase and raised a gun in one swift movement. Bucky fired towards Marcus, but missed by about two inches when he dodged it. You ducked behind a random white sedan as another shot came towards you. The security guards began encroaching in with their own guns drawn. Breathing heavily, Bucky yelled to the security guards to back off and listed off credentials.
As he was distracted, you noticed Eric moving. His gun was too close to him from when he had fallen. You stepped toward him to disarm the man. You weren’t fast enough to get there before he would shoot you. The next moment shocked you. He didn’t aim for you. He aimed for Bucky who was not ready for a bullet. As if in slow motion, the gun fired. You screamed and jumped to take it. You were expecting it. He wasn’t. You could make it miss vital organs. You moved in front of Bucky and it hit your shoulder. The bullet lodged underneath your clavicle. You yelled in pain and fell to the ground. Everything went red for a few seconds… Then black.
_______
“What the hell happened?” Sam asked as he entered the waiting room where Bucky with his head in his hands. His face was red as if he’d been crying. His clothes were tattered. Dust and ripped holes scattered the fabric from his altercation with Eric and Marcus after Y/N got shot. Y/N had been in surgery for thirty minutes where they were pulling the bullet out of Y/N’s chest.
Sam tried to push his anger down with in him.
“You were supposed to protect her!” Sam grunted.
“The hotel security got involved.” Bucky tried to explain. “They-.”
“She still has a bullet in her!”
Bucky went still. He knew that this was all his fault. Y/N had jumped in front of a bullet to save him. He’d noticed it the moment the guards tried to disarm him. The bullet hit Y/N’s chest and he was left to take down four people. He went into semi-Winter Soldier mode when you were shot. It brought out a rage in him that he hadn’t felt in a long time. This was all supposed to be a game. It wasn’t a game anymore.
Your eyes opened slowly. You looked to your left and saw Bucky asleep in a chair next to you. A sharp pain radiated through your shoulder where the bullet had ripped through your skin. An IV was hooked up to your left arm. You shifted in the bed. Bucky’s eyes fluttered open.
“Y/N!” He gasped. “I’ll go get a doctor.”
           “No, I’m okay.”
           “You nearly died.”
“One bullet isn’t nearly dying, Bucky. You of all people should know that.” You smirked. “Where are Steve and Sam? I know you’re not here alone.”
A bit of what Bucky thought was distain gleamed through your tone.
“They are downstairs getting some food.” He muttered.
“Oh, oka-.” You were about to continue when Bucky interrupted you.
“Why’d you do it, Y/N?” He paused for an infinite moment. “I’m awful to you.”
You thought about it for a moment. Did you save him because you might actually love him after the mission? You may have regretted the sex. Was it because you thought it was just for show? Or because you truly liked him and wanted it to be something more.
“I would never let anyone die. You might drive me insane, but I see that there is good in you."
Bucky took in the words for a second then leaned over the guard rail of the hospital bed. He caught your eyes and noticed you weren’t pulling away. He lips fell onto yours. The kiss was gentler than what you had shared in the hotel room and on the dance floor. His lips formed over your own and your tongues collided. He moved together as he carefully avoided your shoulder. Bucky laced his fingers in your hair.
You heard a gasp and pulled apart to see Steve and Sam standing in the doorway with cups of coffee.
Sam chuckled, “Told you it would work.”

______________________________________________________________
December 29th, 2020 (9:52 P.M.)
Abby loathed it.
She loathed wearing those damn masks that made her suffocate. She loathed wearing at least three pieces of clothing, which got her all sweaty and sticky. Best of all, she loathed COVID-19.
Damn every single human that doesn’t know how to social distance.
She got it. She knew how it felt to not spend time with her dear friends. She knew how it felt to not go to gorgeous beaches and get her tans.
But this whole pandemic would be over if everyone followed the damn rules. People are acting as if they are seeing their families for the first time. Airplanes flying across the sky with every seat filled. Beaches filled with women in bikinis and men in shorts. Parties filled with people and alcohol.
Abby is wholeheartedly done.
She recollected how Seb and Amma when they couldn’t come to Boston for the Christmas and New Year’s celebrations because of the fast-spreading virus. Even if she missed her family, she video-called them with Ethan, laughing and sharing joy with one another.
The moment of tranquility at that time inhabited her memories as more patients filled the ER, the moans and groans of pain settling in the overcrowded room. With a sigh, she got back to work, tending to them who may possibly have COVID.
After placing one patient in the ventilator after she had trouble breathing, the junior resident went to the diagnostics room to take a break. It was depressing to call their families and tell them the heartbreaking words that their loved ones might not make it. And for a bonus point, during the holidays.
And it’s already depressing enough that Ethan hadn’t called her yet. He was supposed to here now; his shift was going to start in 5 minutes. Habitually, he got here early, either to finish paperwork or to start his rounds. The fact that he is not here know made her stomach feel wary.
She jolted at the beeping of her pager, signalling her to the ER room. I wasn’t even gone for five minutes.
Reluctantly, she went back down to the ER. She could see figures not far, and a bloodied man. Automatically, her thoughts went to calling his family about this accident. She hated heeding the cries coming out of their mouths, wishing she could do anything, anything, in her power to to save their loved one. But she prompted herself that she tried her full hardest.
Thrusting those thoughts aside, she rushed down to the patient. Suddenly, a pair of hands ceased her from taking another step forward. Naveen.
“Abby, don’t go down there,” Naveen said, worriedly. Huh?
Abby was confused and impatient. “What are you talking about? I’m a doctor. I can help him!”
Naveen replied in a hushed, soothing kind of tone. “There are other doctors there. They’ll tend to-”
Just then a paramedic came, someone the Chacko doesn’t know. “Patient is Ethan Ramsey, age-”
The world stopped. People annulled their motions. At least, that’s what she concluded. Her pulse, however, grew rapid. Her eyes widened. In horrible fear? In terrible anguish? In emotional pain? She doesn’t even know.
“...Naveen? Please don’t tell me it’s who I think it is.”
“...I’m so sorry, Abigail. His car was hit by a truck and it rolled over a few times. He will be okay, I promise-”
But she’s not so certain. She wanted to slap herself. To cut herself, for ever thinking that. But even she took a look at Ethan. He’s covered in blood. She couldn’t even recognize him.
“No...”
Then, she said it louder.
NO! NO! ETHAN! ETHAAAN! Let me go. LET ME GO! NAVEEN, LET ME GO!!” Abby struggled, trying to release herself from Naveen’s grip. He was maintaining a vice-like grip on her, murmuring soothing words that he will be alright.
But she couldn’t make out anything. The world was spiraling, and so was she.
“...Ethan...”
In one blink she fell onto the floor, her knees making an uncomfortable thud on the white tiles, and her vision went black.
-----------------------------------------------------------------
December 30th, 2020 (10:06 A.M.)
The first thing she overheard was the beeping of a heart monitor. Next, she saw the IV going through her arm. She found out she was lying on an uncomfortable bed, sunlight streaming through the windows. Finally, she sees the Chief with an anxious face.
“Abigail! Ladoo, are you alright?” Naveen asked, concerned.
Only one word came out of her mouth. A name. “Ethan...”
She placed everything now. The bloodied body of Ethan Ramsey. Her true love. Unconscious. Unaware of any of her calls. She gasped out.
“Ethan! Naveen, where is Ethan? Where-”
Abby couldn’t breathe. She is suffocating. And she wasn’t even wearing one of those damn masks.
“Abby, deep breaths,” Naveen soothingly commanded.
She did as she was advised. Her breathing got normal, but her pulse didn’t.
“Naveen! Where is Ethan? Is he alright? Where-”
“Ladoo. Ethan is in the ICU, currently in a coma. He had a major surgery in his lung and chest. Thankfully, the surgeons stopped the blood loss. He had two broken ribs and a broken arm.”
Abby couldn’t get that first sentence out of her mind. “He’s... in a coma?”
The senior doctor sighed profoundly. “Yes, Abigail. We don’t know when he will wake up.”
We don’t know when he will wake up.
A tear spilled out of her eye, but she forced herself to swab it away. She will not break down. At least not now. Finally, she cared enough to question about herself.
“...What’s wrong with me?”
A sigh pulled out of Naveen’s mouth again. “You fainted after you had heard the news about Ethan. Your blood pressure increased. Fortunately, you’re fine now. I’ve informed Seb and Jazmin about this. They sensed you would be uncomfortable with talking about Ethan now, so they’ve decided to give you some space.”
She was appreciative. For having the best brother and mother. She treasured them. Too much. “I’ll shoot them a quick text message later. For now, I’m going to Ethan’s room. Where is he?”
“Abi-”
“Please. I want to see him.”
With a defeated sigh, Naveen and a nurse aided her onto a plastic wheelchair, much to her annoyance. She could walk fine, she’s not paralyzed or anything.
Abby was wheeled down the familiar hospital hall as nurses and doctors kept sparing pitiful glances. She didn’t need pity. She needed Ethan.
She walked into the room, preparing herself for what she was going to see. She wasn’t prepared at all.
Ethan was wearing a hospital gown and looked exhausted. His eyes were closed and he looked calm. Peaceful. Tranquility.
Some of her friends were already there. Bryce, Sienna, Jackie, Elijah, Rafael. They knew Abby would want to see her love. Some of them whispered comforting words. Others patted her on the shoulder. They all left her, and soon, she was alone with her fiance.
She started. “Hi, Ethan. It’s me, Rookie.”
She looked at the calendar. December 30.
“Two more days till this horrible year is over. Life always throws us curveballs, don’t they?”
Silence.
She sighed. “Tomorrow is New Year’s Eve. Couples are supposed to kiss each other at the stroke of midnight. I need to feel your lips on mine at midnight. Please.”
The tears she tried to hold fell out like a dam breaking. She broke out in sobs.
“Please, Ethan. I... I can’t live without you in this damn world. If you die, I die, Ethan. I die. Please. I wanna feel you lips on mine at midnight. We planned so much for the future. Please. We’re engaged. We’ll be married next year. We’re hoping to build a family. With Jenner, as our third wheel. Please wake up, wake up, wake up. I love you too damn much.”
She whispered the last sentence. She tangled his hand in hers and held them tight. He may be in a coma now, but she’ll sing a song for him now.
The sun comes up It's a new day dawning It's time to sing your song again
She takes a deep breath to keep her voice from cracking. Whatever may pass And whatever lies before me Let me be singing When the evening comes
Bless The Lord, O my soul O my soul Worship his holy name Sing like never before O my soul I'll worship your holy name
She sighed. He didn’t move, but something told her that he will move soon.
“Rest now, my love. I’ll be waiting for that kiss when you wake up.”
He didn’t wake up that day.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
December 31st, 2020 (11:40 P.M.)
Abby was with him yesterday and planned to stay in his room the whole night, until Naveen discharged her and gently forced her into an on-call room. It’s amusing how he thinks the 22 years old would get any sleep. She wanted to be in Ethan’s comforting arms. Him stroking her musky brunette hair. Her wrapping her narrow arms around his waist. Sleeping under the brilliant moonlight. But now, the coma threatened to take away that lifelong dream.
It was 11:40 P.M. on New Year’s Eve, and Abby was still waiting for that midnight kiss. He promised he would kiss her at 12:00 A.M. He didn’t have any problems in doing that. If so, he would have told Abby. He didn’t have to go into a coma to hamper it. Abby would still love him.
Abby was looking at the wall, staring at it blankly as she clasped his hand and gave it a squeeze, hoping for it to jerk. And minutes later, it did.
The first jerk got her out of her train of thoughts. The second jerk made her look at his bruised face, hopeful for a holiday miracle. The third jerk made him slowly open his eyes, his familiar hand gently stroking her thumb as to figure out who is next to him.
She gently fastened her eyes. Oh no, what if he loses his memory? It was a serious car accident after all. Stop it, Abby, Naveen didn’t mention a head injury. Oh no, what if he was lying? What if he was trying to make me feel better? What-
“Rookie...?” She looked back at her, only to observe Ethan staring intently at her, with a slight glimmer.
“Ethan...” She couldn’t hold back the tears this time.
The ocean eyes lost glimmer and instead widened with evident alarm. “Abby, don’t cry. What happened?”
Abby released a tremulous breath, one that she barely knew she was holding. “A truck hit you car and it flipped a few times. You were in it. You had a major surgery in your lung and chest. The surgeons stopped your blood loss just in time. You have two broken ribs and a broken arm. And you were in a coma.”
If Ethan wasn’t alert before, then he definitely is after hearing her last statement. “I was in a coma? For how long?”
“Just for a day, luckily. It’s New Year’s Eve.”
She looked at her watch.
“... 11:55 P.M.”
Ethan nodded his head slowly, before gently stroking her cheek to wipe away the salty droplets of water. “Rookie, don’t cry. I’m awake now, am I not?”
She broke. Again.
“B-but, I th-thought you wouldn’t m-make it. I thought y-you would never w-wake up. I thought o-our future was de-destroyed. I thought I would ne-never see you bl-blue eyes again. I thought-”
She gave up saying the last sentence and the first sob came out. Ethan’s heart broke piece by piece before shattering.
“Lie down with me.”
She was hesitant. “But w-what if I h-hurt you?”
“You won’t,” Ethan assured. “I want to hold you.”
Slowly, she got up from the uncomfortable plastic chair and gently lied down with him. Her hand came around his waist, mindful of his injuries. Ethan’s hand went to the daily job of stroking her hair down.
“I’m right here. Our dream will never be shattered as long as we have each other’s hearts. Even if I did die-”
“Ethan, stop-”
“No, Abigail, let me say this. Even if I did die, our hearts would be mended together. If you died, I would never love someone else again. You would be mine always, no matter what happens. My heart would belong to you and only you.”
Joyful and comforting tears obscured her vision. “I love you, Ethan.”
“I love you, too, Rookie. To the squares of infinity.”
Just then, they both heard the countdown. 11:59 P.M.
Ten.
Nine.
Eight.
Seven.
“Are you ready?” Ethan asked.
Six.
Five.
Abby smiled. “Hell yeah, I am.”
Four.
Three.
Two.
One.
And their lips met at the stroke of midnight, fulfilling his promise.
“Happy New Year, Abigail.” The former attending said, a beautiful grin adoring his face.
“Happy New Year, Ethan.” Abby returned with the same grin.
As sleep was overtaking both of them with colorful fireworks decorating the night sky, Abby managed to ponder on one more thought.
Good riddance, 2020.

Breakable Heaven (pt. IV) - p.l. dubois
part I part II part III
Oh my gosh, I seriously can’t believe this little series has come to an end. I’m so so happy with how it’s turned out, and want to thank anyone who’s stuck with Laurel and Pierre-Luc throughout this month. It’s one of my favorite things I’ve ever done, and it’s yours to enjoy now. Please please let me know what you think of this part, what you think about the series - getting anon comments is amazing, my inbox is always open, and I LOVE reading tags. Reblog if you like what I’m putting out, it helps me know that!
Warning: Smut (It’s light, but it’s there, so no one under 18 please!)
Part IV (7.8k)
September 23 (thurs)
Laurel was running through the Toronto airport, her carry-on bag bouncing on the tile behind her as she frantically searched for her gate. Thank God Air Canada domestic flew from the international terminal; her layover was only an hour and ten minutes and even more time had been shaved off by a departure delay in Montréal. She had forgotten that flights from Toronto cleared U.S. Customs in Canada, and if she hadn’t been able to skip the line and slap her American passport on a kiosk reader she would have almost certainly missed her connection.
No matter how many times Laurel had tried to insist on an economy ticket when she and Pierre were booking flights for her visits, he refused to cave. “They don’t include a checked bag in economy, but they do if you fly business,” he had said, shrugging, with a small smile on his face. “Baggage fees alone would make it pretty much a wash.” Laurel doubted that, and she doubted that she’d need a checked bag for a four-day trip, but her husband had made it clear that he wasn’t budging.
So needless to say, she was more than a little bit out of breath as she finally arrived at Gate F66, which was conveniently almost as far away from her arrival gate as humanly possible while still being in the same terminal. She handed her boarding pass and passport to the gate agent, smiling apologetically as she hurried down the jetbridge. It was barely past noon, but there was nothing in the world Laurel wanted more than to sleep. Maintaining a full-time schedule at the hospital while also trying to organize a trip to Columbus that lasted more than two days meant she had to switch shifts. Normally, that wouldn’t be an issue; that week, however, the only open slot was the 12-hour overnight shift on Wednesday. Which meant that she’d been awake for some twenty hours straight, but almost all of that had been on her feet at work, or walking from the parking lot to the check-in counter in Montréal, or running through the halls of Pearson Airport in Toronto. She took her seat, half-listened to the safety briefing, and passed out as soon as her head hit the headrest.
Much to her chagrin, the flight itself was only just over an hour, and she was really only able to get in a generous nap before their descent into Ohio. Sitting in the second row, she exited the plane in record time, flicking her phone off of airplane mode and waiting for a text from Pierre-Luc. At least she didn’t have to go through TSA again. He wrote back in record time, letting her know he’d be in his car at the curb right outside the terminal. She waited at baggage claim, grabbing her forest green suitcase; the same one she had when she’d moved to Toronto for university, fresh-faced and 18 and so, so unaware of what the world had in store for her. If only she could see herself now. Laurel ran her thumb along the side handle for a moment, pulling at a loose thread, before hefting it onto the floor and turning towards the sliding exit doors.
As promised, Pierre was waiting right outside the door, flashing her a bright smile and throwing the driver’s side door open as soon as he saw her. “Welcome to Columbus, babe!” he exclaimed, wrapping Laurel into a deep hug and kissing her on the cheek.
She laughed as the trunk popped open, each of them grabbing a suitcase. “It’s a little bit funny, don’t you think? That I’ve lived in the Midwest for almost my whole life and the first time I go to Ohio it’s because I’m living in Canada?”
“Maybe just a little bit,” Pierre said, holding his thumb and pointer finger about an inch apart. “I’m really happy you were able to come, though, Laurel. I got used to having you around.” His face was softer now, looking over at Laurel with an expression that wasn’t quite placable but seemed like it was somehow communicating so much in a single glance.
“Me too,” Laurel replied. The ride to Pierre’s Columbus apartment took just over ten minutes, and Laurel was in the door, petting the dogs, before the clock struck 3:00.
Pierre approached her from behind, his hands on her shoulders as he leaned around to kiss her on the cheek. “You want to take a nap?” he asked. “We’ve got that thing with the team at 7, and I know you’re probably running on fumes right now.”
Laurel nodded, giving him a weary smile, dropping her bag on the floor of the master bedroom with an all-too-satisfying thump. “Nap sounds good.”
---
The nap was good, so good, and Laurel woke up at half past 6 feeling like she’d just had the best sleep of her life. She yawned, rubbing her eyes, and looked around the room to see Pierre with his back towards her, buttoning up his shirt. He turned around, catching her eye, and grinned. “You like the view?” he asked, gesturing to his half-naked torso.
Laurel rolled her eyes, pulling the sheets up to poorly conceal her embarrassment at being caught. “And if I do?”
She heard a loud laugh, peeking her head out from under. “I’d say my wife has every right to appreciate it.” He walked around the bed while fastening the last few buttons, holding his hand out for Laurel to take. “I let you sleep as long as I could, but we’re going to have to get going in fifteen minutes or so. I was told that ‘we’ve waited this long to meet her, the least you could do is get your damn wife to the party in time,’” he said, adding air quotes for emphasis.
Laurel nodded, tossing back the covers and walking over to her suitcase, intending to rifle through the stacks of clothes to find something for the night’s festivities. Instead, she was greeted by an empty bag. She wheeled around to look at Pierre, who was sheepishly rubbing the back of his neck as he stared at her suitcase. “I unpacked your stuff,” he said, nodding over towards the spare dresser. “It’s in there. I’m sorry if that seems weird and I won’t do it again if you feel like that was pushing your boundaries, but I know for me when I’m on roadies I like to unpack, even if it’s just one night. Makes it feel more like home.”
Laurel was too overcome with how sweet the gesture was, small as it may have been, to realize that that meant he had touched four days worth of bras and underwear. It shouldn’t have bothered him anyways, and if he hadn’t said anything about it, it clearly hadn’t. So instead, she pulled him into a warm hug, standing on her tiptoes to bury her face in the crook of his neck. “Thank you, P. One less thing I have to do.”
“You do still have to actually get dressed, though,” he added, giving her sleepwear an appreciative once-over. “Unless you’re planning on wearing that.”
She let out a giggle. “As much as I love wearing a massive Cloquet High Lumberjacks t-shirt and no pants, somehow I don’t think that’s the move,” she said, ambling over towards the dresser. She found the tops on the first try, pulling out a wine-colored wrap shirt and grabbing the same pair of light-wash jeans she had worn on the plane. Pierre moved to duck out of the room, presumably to give her privacy to change. Laurel made a split-second decision to call after him. “You don’t have to leave.” Pierre stopped in his tracks.
Laurel slipped the shirt on, tying it in the front, and fastened her jeans. Mascara on and booties zippered, and she was good to go. “So what is this thing, anyways?” she asked Pierre as they drove to Foligno’s house.
Pierre tilted his head. “Little bit of this, little bit of that. Half the typical beginning-of-the-year preseason party, half the wedding reception we never had. They were very insistent on bringing gifts, so be prepared.”
“Will do,” she said, laughing. “And by they, you mean…”
“Some of the guys, but mostly the wives and girlfriends. Their parties are the stuff of legends, so you can imagine how excited everyone was when I told them we never had a proper reception.”
“But they don’t know why we didn’t have a proper party,” Laurel reminded him.
“About that…” Pierre started, his bottom lip caught between his teeth.
Laurel froze, her thumb hovering over her phone screen, halfway through composing a text to Kristen. “Pierre,” she swallowed, her voice deadly soft, “did you tell someone?”
---
It was the Saturday before, and the team had gone out to celebrate the end of the first week of training camp. Sunday was an off day, so Saturday night found all the over-21s — and anyone who could get a good enough fake — at a bar in the city. Pierre had just crossed the line into tipsy, and as his captain was about to find out, tipsy Pierre was an oversharer. It was common enough for families to be a topic of discussion on nights out or in the locker room; that wasn’t the issue. The issue was that, as the old adage goes, drunk words are sober thoughts. And, if he was being honest, Pierre was still harboring some guilt from having to hide the truth of his and Laurel’s marriage from everyone, Nick included. Pierre hated that he couldn’t tell Nick the truth. He was his captain and his friend, and he felt the least he owed to him was not to lie.
“It’s just so weird being away from Laurel, away from Montréal, for this long,” Pierre sighed.
“Sure,” Nick said sympathetically, “but you said you’d been friends for a few years, so you’ve had feelings for her for a while, no? It’s obviously not ideal, but you’ve been away from her for longer.”
Pierre turned towards Nick, some of his beer — his fourth of the night — spilling out of the cup. “Can I tell you a secret?”
Nick rolled his eyes, thinking he was going to be hearing some dumb high school confession, that he had asked out a senior girl when he was a freshman, or filled his QMJHL captain’s gloves with shaving cream or something. He didn’t expect what he heard next.
“We got married so she could stay in the country, for her permanent residency. I never met her before June.”
Nick sucked in a breath. “You’re not fucking with me, are you?”
“Nope.”
“You realize how much trouble you guys could get into if they figure out, right?” he asked.
Pierre nodded, looking down at his clasped hands nervously. “We both do. But you’re not going to tell anyone, right?”
“No, of course not,” Nick said. “I trust you, and I know you and Laurel were just doing what you thought was the best and most logical thing given the circumstances.” Pierre let out a somber nod. “But,” he continued, “I feel like this whole...situation just leaves open the opportunity for things to get really messy really quickly.”
“Messy how?” Pierre asked.
Nick shifted uncomfortably in his chair, looking at a spot just beyond Pierre’s head. He didn’t want to, not really, but it was his job as Pierre’s captain — more importantly as his friend  — to make him consider every angle. “Someone catching feelings, one of you falling for the other, or God forbid, someone else. There’s already so much at stake in a ‘normal’ marriage, but yours just has added complications.” Pierre felt a twinge in his heart. He didn’t want to admit it, he really didn’t want to admit it, but Nick was right. “Do you love her?” Nick asked softly.
Pierre sunk back into his chair. “I don’t know. She means a lot to me, more than I ever thought she would, but I don’t know. Plus, I have no clue how she feels about me, and I wouldn’t want to say something like that only to have her pull away.”
“Did you guys talk about that?” he asked.
“About what?” Pierre responded.
“About what would happen if one of you caught feelings. Because I’m assuming it was supposed to, is supposed to, be a strictly platonic thing.”
Pierre shrugged. “Not really. We didn’t like make a pact or anything, if that’s what you’re asking. We really didn’t talk much about it at all,” he said, finishing his beer. “I mean, obviously we agreed that we wouldn’t be seeing anyone else, dating or hooking up or anything like that. It was just too risky. But no, we never really addressed how we’d deal with it if one of us ended up...falling for each other. I guess it was just supposed to be a ‘we’ll cross that bridge when we come to it’ type of thing.”
“And have you come to it?” Nick asked.
“I don’t know.”
---
Pierre finished the story, hazarding a glance over to Laurel, who was wringing her hands as she looked out the windshield. “I’m not mad at you,” she said finally. “If Nick said he wouldn’t tell, I trust you when you say he won’t. One of us was bound to let it slip eventually.”
He turned his eyes back towards the road, still feeling a pang of regret. She was almost being too good to him. “We’ll be okay,” he said, saying it just as much to himself as he did to her.
Laurel gave him a small smile as they pulled into the Foligno’s house, parking on the stone-paved driveway. “We will be.”
Janelle opened the door practically the second after they knocked, greeting Pierre and Laurel with warm hugs. “Laurel, it’s so wonderful to finally meet you,” she said, squeezing her hand. “We know how hard it is to find the time off and make the trip down, and everyone’s excited to see you.” She led them through the entryway to the living room, where Laurel was passed around to some twenty-odd players and their partners, where she introduced herself over and over again as “Pierre’s wife, yes the nurse from Minnesota who none of you knew existed.”
Dinner was a barbeque outside, Nick, Pierre, and some of the others manning the three grills as Laurel helped set up the drinks table. He held her hand under the table as they ate, his thumb gently rubbing across her thigh every so often in reassurance. “You good?” he murmured in his ear as Laurel sipped a beer, half-listening to some story Korpi was telling about a near-miss incident with a water ski back in Finland during the summer.
Laurel nodded, squeezing his fingers. “I’m good.”
Plates were cleared, dishes were washed, and everyone was herded into Nick and Janelle’s enormous family room, where a small mountain of wrapped boxes and bags sat in the far corner. “I don’t know if you know this,” Janelle said conspiratorially as Laurel sat down, “but NHLers make more than a little money.”
She laughed. “So I’ve been told.”
“Which means that, clueless though they may be, you’re going to be getting some very nice presents.”
And very nice presents they were. A wine club membership, a set of dutch ovens from Seth — “It was my mom’s suggestion”  — Jones, an espresso machine from Boone, a set of matching, personalized dog bowls for Phil, Georgia, and Piper. Laurel honestly wasn’t sure how it was all going to fit in the car, let alone how she was going to manage to stay under the baggage limit on her way back to Canada, but the thought and kindness that went into each gift was what really made it special.
“From me and the other girls,” Janelle said, passing Laurel a bag.
“Oh, this is too much,” Laurel said. “You already got the knives and the mixer, I don’t need anything else.”
Cam’s wife, Natalie, shrugged. “Would it help if we made it, didn’t buy it?”
Laurel’s brow furrowed in confusion, her fingers moving to undo the ribbon that tied the handles together, taking out the tissue paper. “Oh!” she gasped quietly as she pulled out a denim jacket, a Blue Jackets logo ironed onto the back, Dubois embroidered where a name bar would be. “You didn’t have to do this.”
“You’re still a part of the family,” Natalie said, smiling. “Even if you’re not here all the time. We want you to feel as included as anyone else.”
Laurel folded up the jacket carefully, tucking it back in the bag as Josh walked up to Pierre, holding out a small box, clearly wrapped by himself. “Well now I just feel silly.”
Pierre shook his head, smiling at his friend. “Don’t, Josh. I’m sure we’ll love it.” He thumbed open the folds on the wrapping paper, setting it aside before pulling off the top of the box. He fell silent.
Laurel peeked over, trying to catch a glimpse of the box’s contents. “What is it, P?”
Instead of answering, Pierre just held the box upside-down. Condoms of all colors and sizes rained down onto the hardwood floor as Pierre stared at Josh, clearly trying very hard not to laugh. The side of his mouth twitched. “Interesting choice of gift, you don’t think?” he asked.
Josh shrugged helplessly, his cheeks red. “It’s practical?”
 November 28 (sun)
Laurel caught every Blue Jackets game she could on the TV, even the ones in early November when Pierre was out for a few games with a mild concussion. She was his wife, but she was also a nurse, and made sure to get daily updates on his condition, restraining herself from FaceTiming him to help limit his amount of daily screen time. But he had been back for a few weeks, making second star of the night with a goal and an assist, so naturally he was pulled away for a few postgame interviews.
Laurel watched the screen, trying not to get distracted by the sweat drenching his Underarmour. Reporters, the good ones at least, were usually considerate with steering clear of asking personal questions, but sometimes an injury, or the birth of a child, or, as luck would have it, a wedding, begged an answer. “So, Pierre, I think a lot of us were surprised to see you announce on Instagram that you had gotten married this summer. Congratulations, by the way,” the journalist from the Dispatch said.
“Thanks,” Pierre replied, smiling.
“And I hope I speak for everyone here when saying that we entirely respect you and your wife’s decision to keep things quiet and announce it in a much more subdued fashion than usual. Players often speak a lot about how integral support from family and friends is, and just how important it is to have that kind of a support system in place.” Pierre could see where the question was going. “Obviously you’ve got the boys down here, but it doesn’t look like your wife Laurel is based in Columbus like you are. Is there a reason for that, and do you think that’s affected your game?”
Pierre sucked in a breath; it was a fair question, and a reasonable assumption to make, but that didn’t mean he liked answering it any more. But it was almost suspicious how quickly he had an answer. “Uh, yeah, it’s been interesting for us to have to navigate. You’re right, Laurel’s back in Montréal, she spends most of her time at our place in the city. She’s a nurse in the intensive care unit of CHU Saint-Justine, so she does pediatrics there. She loves what she does, and she’s so good at it, and it just wouldn’t be right of me to ever ask or expect her to leave on my account. I know we’ve got a great hospital at Nationwide Children’s, but she loves where she is. We both do. So yeah, it’s rough being away sometimes, but luckily she’s able to move shifts around and make it down twice a month or so when we’re not on the road. But we keep in contact daily, obviously, and I’m able to lean on the guys, especially the other married ones, on how to deal with the stress of being away for so long. But it’s rough. I miss my wife,” Pierre finished.
Laurel clicked the remote, turning the TV off, her hand scratching behind Piper’s ears, and tried not to replay his words in her mind as she crawled into bed and fell asleep.
 December 18 (sat)
Laurel stumbled through the door of Pierre’s Columbus apartment, laughing breathlessly as she tried to lock the deadbolt. “You need some help there, L?” Pierre asked, raising one eyebrow.
“I’m good,” Laurel said, taking two more tries before it would actually lock. The eggnog from the Christmas party was starting to take its toll; Pierre had agreed to be the pair’s designated driver for the night, so she had had maybe a glass too many. The night had genuinely been so much fun, Laurel had initially been worried at how well she might fit in with the group in a more casual situation. As much as she loved being able to hang out with the team and the other WAGs when she was in Ohio — and she did — she couldn’t help but be nervous that she didn’t have the same level of camaraderie that could help turn a night from good to great. Laurel couldn’t have been happier to be wrong. She was embraced from the moment she walked in the door, a glass of wine pushed into her hand and her Secret Santa gift deposited on the entryway table.
Laurel used to always roll her eyes at the idea that “time flies when you’re having fun,” but that couldn’t have been more true for the party. It seemed like only minutes had passed, but suddenly it was almost midnight, and the couples with kids had to head home to relieve the babysitters, and Laurel and Pierre were headed home.
“Let’s get some water in you, no?” Pierre murmured, walking to the kitchen and opening the cupboard.
“Thanks,” Laurel said softly as she took the glass from him, kicking off her shoes and tucking her feet under her on the couch.
Pierre perched on the arm, absentmindedly playing with his watch. But while a tipsy Pierre was an oversharer, a tipsy Laurel was always emotional in one fashion or another. “How’d you like the party?”
“It was great,” Laurel said. “I’m not sure why Alexandre thought I’d be into a Blue Jackets scarf, but I guess it’s the thought that counts?” She pulled the offending object out of her bag, running her fingers through the fringe on the edge. “Seeing how amazing so many of those couples are, Janelle and Nick especially, it was awesome…” She trailed off. “But it was hard.”
His brow furrowed. Why would it be hard? “How so?”
“I always thought that, when I got married, it would be once and that was it.” She screwed her eyes shut. “And that’s not to mean I’m not grateful for what you’ve done, it’s so incredible and goes so far beyond just plain kindness. I just thought it would be a forever thing.”
Pierre’s heart dropped. Of course she’d feel like that. If marriage was something she wanted to take that seriously, how could she not feel like she was cheapening its meaning by treating it as nothing more than an arrangement of convenience? It wasn’t even like he felt any differently; hockey was obviously still his first priority most of the time, but he’d always seen himself as someone who wanted to settle down and have a family one day. He guessed that he just hadn’t let himself think about it. “Laurel,” he said quietly, reaching out to her. But she wasn’t done.
“It’s just,” Laurel sighed, one hand tugging on her hair, tears threatening to escape her eyes, “knowing this is all temporary. Knowing that in a couple of y-years, when I g-get my citizenship and we get d-divorced, this is all going to end,” she said, hiccuping through her words. “I won’t be able to come to your Christmas parties and fly down for games and sit up in the WAG box with my friends and that jacket and a jersey with your name on it. I won’t be able to do any of that any more because it wasn’t real, it wasn’t ever real, and that fucking kills me inside, P.” Laurel sat on the corner of the couch, a spot as precarious as the words tumbling out of her mouth.
“Why?” Pierre asked, even though if he was honest, he’d stake his career on the belief that he already knew the answer. “Why would it hurt so bad?” His voice was so quiet that if Laurel hadn’t been sitting two feet away, she wouldn’t have heard.
“Because I’m fucking in love with you,” she whispered. “And that’s the single most terrifying sentence I’ve ever said in my life.” Even though Pierre somehow knew that’s what she was going to say all along, it didn’t stop her words from stealing the breath out of his lungs. Laurel looked up at him through her tears, her eyes beginning to redden. “Say something, please, P.”
Pierre knelt in front of her, his thumb resting gently on her cheek, wiping away her tears. “God, Laur, how could I not be in love with you?” She blinked rapidly at him, trying to process the words that were coming out of his mouth. “I wasn’t lying when I said you were one of the most incredible people I’ve ever met. You’re so caring, not just for me, but for everyone in your life. You’d give a stranger the shirt off of your back. You’re probably the smartest person I know, way smarter than me.” A giggle escaped Laurel’s mouth. “The dedication you show to everything in your life is amazing. At your job, you treat every patient like they were your own sibling or your own child. You make the trip down to Columbus once a month, twice a month. That’s not easy, all the flight time and having to leave Piper and switching shifts around so we can see each other. You’re gorgeous, not just on the outside — though you’re the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen — but the light in your eyes when you talk about a new book you read, or how happy you look when you let me taste a new recipe you’re trying, or how passionate you get when you see something wrong and know there’s something you need to do to change it. So what if we’re doing things a little backwards? First comes marriage, then comes love.” He leaned his forehead against hers. “I fell in love with you awhile ago. I think it just took me a second to realize it.”
 January 26 (wed)
Laurel thought the distance and space between them would be easier now that she knew how he felt, now that they both knew how they felt. She couldn’t have been more wrong. So the All-Star break, and the Blue Jackets’ bye week, couldn’t have come at a better time. Pierre had made plans for the break a few months earlier, but after everything that happened over Christmas, it didn’t seem right to ditch Laurel for a boy’s trip with Alexandre and Seth. So Hilton Head was traded in for Saint Lucia, and his teammates were traded in for his wife. And he wouldn’t have it any other way.
Laurel was using three of her paid vacation days and Pierre was able to make the schedule work just right to get five nights in the Carribean. “A belated honeymoon, if you will,” he had said, cracking a grin over FaceTime as they booked the flights. The flight from Columbus was much less straightforward than hers from Montréal, but by a chance airline scheduling his first layover was in Toronto. Laurel met him at the gate, hauling her own green suitcase behind her as he flung his arms around her, kissing her with everything he had in him. They may have missed the not-so-subtle fans taking pictures that later circulated around Twitter that may or may not have led to some grade A chirping in the team’s group chat. But Pierre didn’t care. He cared that for a few days, he could forget about the stress of hockey and trying to make a playoff run and all the rumors floating around and just be with his wife. And, Pierre thought as they walked through the airport door into the Carribean sun, there really wasn’t anything else he wanted.
They hailed a taxi, the twenty minute drive to their resort rushing by in a blur of palm trees and seas so blue Laurel thought she could fall into them just by looking. Pierre jogged into the main office to check them in, coming back with their key cards before the taxi continued on its way, dropping them off in front of their villa. Laurel spun slowly as they got out of the car, smiling up at the sky as Pierre pressed a few bills into the taxi driver’s hand with a nod of thanks. “You okay there?” he asked with a grin.
“It’s so warm,” Laurel said in wonderment. Even in January, the weather in Saint Lucia hovered in the mid-70s, a far cry from the twenties and teens of a Montréal winter. Laurel was no stranger to the cold — Cloquet had seen temperatures pushing thirty below when Laurel was in high school — but the idea that she could be somewhere and wear shorts while it was snowing in her hometown was a concept so novel she hadn’t quite grasped it yet.
He nodded, looking at Laurel with a gaze so soft she thought her heart would maybe burst. “We’re in the Caribbean, L. It’s warm all the time.”
She rolled her eyes, bending over to get her suitcase, but not before Pierre snatched it up himself, holding the key card between two fingers. “Are you going to just stand there, or do you want to check out our honeymoon suite?” Laurel’s words dripped with suggestiveness, her sandal-clad feet dragging their way up the path to the villa with tantalizing languor.
“Coming.”
Even after the six months of their marriage, and even after everything that happened over the holidays, they hadn’t had sex. They’d gotten close a few times, both on her trip in December and in ones since, but never managed to go all the way. First Laurel needed a new birth control prescription — the last thing she would do would be have sex without being extra safe about it — and then she was too tired after a night out, and another time Pierre had scored a hat trick and they had partied way too hard to even think about sex. So needless to say, it had been a while for Laurel since she’d gotten release by any hands other than her own, and even longer for Pierre. And it certainly wasn’t because she didn’t want to. Laurel was well aware that her husband was hot as fuck, and she’d be lying if some of her lonelier nights weren’t filled with thoughts of exactly what she wanted him to do to her. But it felt different than any of her other relationships. Obviously, it felt different, she hadn’t been married to Oliver or Ryan or Carter. And that didn’t mean she wasn’t invested in those, but just that the stakes were so much higher and she had fallen so much harder for Pierre than she ever thought imaginable. She didn’t want to have sex with him until she was sure. Sure that it was going somewhere, sure that it would last, sure that he loved her in the same way that made her heart ache every time he dropped her off at Columbus International Airport.
---
By the time they had unpacked, eaten, and gotten a few rum punches in their system, it was well past 7 and the sun had long since set. Laurel peeked out the door onto their balcony, nodding at the private plunge pool. “We’ve got quite the setup here.”
She walked over to the dresser, grabbing a swimsuit out and crossing over to the bathroom, her hand hovering over the knob. “Just something to think about.” Pierre put his swim trunks on in record time. Laurel padded out of the bathroom, the top straps of her bikini dangling, the swell of her breasts peeking above the cups. “Do me up?” she asked.
Pierre’s fingers brushed the baby hairs at the base of her neck as he tied the straps of her white-hot bikini. “Sure you don’t want to go out to the beach?”
Their villa came with a stretch of beachfront, and it seemed like such a shame to let it go to waste. Laurel shook her head, a smile playing on the edge of her lips. “We’ve got a couple of days to enjoy the beach. I’d like to stay somewhere a little more...secluded.” She bit her lip as she opened the door to the balcony, dipping her toes in the pool and sighing at the warmth of the water. Laurel looked back at Pierre, one eyebrow raised. “You coming?” Pierre couldn’t follow fast enough.
They stayed in the water for a while, lazily kissing and staring at the stars and sipping drinks that had lost their potency hours ago, but neither of them really cared much. Sometime during the night, Laurel had made her way onto Pierre’s lap, where she reached over to the balcony, lofting herself out of the pool and wrapping a scarf around her body. “Getting a little cold,” she said, bending down and giving him a soft kisss. She walked into the room, drying herself off; he followed. Laurel threw the towel over a chair in the corner of the room, walking over towards Pierre, stopping when their noses were almost touching.
Laurel’s wrap fell from her shoulders, pooling on the wood floor. Pierre’s hand skated up her arm to rest on her cheek. He leaned in and pressed his lips to hers. She stood on her tiptoes as her left hand tangled in his hair, her right pressed against the back of his neck. She whimpered into his mouth; it took everything in Pierre’s power to keep the blood from rushing south. The kiss got more frantic, tongue and teeth clashing against each other as he walked her back to the bed. The back of her knees bumped up against the edge.
Pierre pulled away slightly, letting out a moan as he saw Laurel’s face. Her lips were puffy from kissing, her chest heaving with the force of her breath, and her wild hair had long since been taken out of its ponytail. In other words, Pierre was convinced beyond a shadow of a doubt that Laurel, in that moment, was the most beautiful woman he’d ever seen. “You sure you want to do this?” Pierre murmured. He wanted to. God, he wanted to. But he’d never do anything without making sure that she was absolutely comfortable. Laurel nodded, biting her lip. “I need to hear you say it, babe,” Pierre said, taking a step forward, their noses almost touching.
“I want you to ruin me.”
Pierre audibly groaned, capturing her lips in his before throwing her back on the bed, his hand moving to her back to undo the tie of her bikini top as his lips trailed down her neck. He threw the top off to one side, paying exactly zero attention to where it landed, as his hands slid up her waist to cup her breasts, his thumbs ghosting over her sensitive nipples. Laurel’s breath hitched in her throat. “You like that, baby?”
“Mhm,” Laurel whimpered, unable to form a complete sentence.
He smirked, lowering his mouth to her chest, flicking his tongue over her right nipple as his hand pinched her left. The air was filled with breathless sighs from them both until Pierre’s hands left her breasts. Laurel whined in protest until she felt his fingers toying with her bikini bottoms, his head lifting just enough so that his eyes could meet hers. “This okay?”
It was all Laurel could do to choke out a single word. “Please.”
Pierre pulled them down her legs, kissing down, down to her hips, down to her inner thighs, down to everywhere except for where she needed him. “You need something, Laurel?” Pierre asked, his voice dripping with sex.
Laurel groaned, not wanting to give in but also knowing that Pierre could stay where he was for hours if it meant teasing her. “Your mouth.”
“As you wish.” And then his tongue was on her, and in her, and she couldn’t help but let out a moan. And Pierre was loving every second of it. He stayed down there for a while, long enough to finish her twice.
Laurel pushed on his shoulder, trying to get him to turn on his back so she could return the favor. Pierre shook his head as he shucked his shorts off, pulling her head down to kiss her roughly. “I’m going to cum right here if I don’t get inside you in the next two minutes, babe.” He reached over to the nightstand, grabbing a condom. “Guess I’ll have to thank Josh for these when we get back home.”
She raised one eyebrow, clearly unamused. “If you do that, I can promise you I’ll never put your dick in my mouth. Not now, not ever.”
Pierre held his hands up in surrender, the foil packet shining between two fingers. “Alright, alright. I won’t.” He paused just before bringing the wrapper up to his teeth. “You want this?”
Laurel nodded frantically as he rolled the condom down his length. He looked so hard it was painful. “So bad.” He leaned down to kiss her, propped up on one arm as he pushed into her, hair falling into his face as he closed his eyes. He was too blissed out to be able to focus on anything other than how good she felt around him, how tight and warm and how well she fit, like Laurel Elizabeth Klerken was made for him and him alone.
“More,” Laurel cried softly, and that was all it took for Pierre to grab one of her legs, throwing it around his hips as he increased his pace, head dropping to her neck as he nipped at her pulse points. It didn’t take long for Pierre to reach his high, Laurel right behind him. He pressed a sweet kiss to her forehead before getting up from the bed, going into the bathroom to tie off the condom and grab a washcloth. He cleaned up between her legs as Laurel lay there, trying to steady her breathing, absolutely spent from the night’s three orgasms. “Why didn’t we do that earlier?” Laurel murmured.
Pierre laughed, throwing the cloth in the laundry basket and tilting down to press a kiss to the crown of her head. “I don’t know. But it was worth it.”
 February 20 (mon)
Laurel had learned early on in her relationship with Pierre that she couldn’t put much stock into what was said on Twitter. Or Instagram, or any social media for that matter. So much was speculation: about draft picks, about trade rumors, about Pierre-Luc Dubois’ secret wife, that it just wasn’t useful or healthy for her so spend much time looking around. She still had her accounts, but Instagram was the only one she went on with any regularity nowadays. And she rarely checked her phone during the work day anyways; unless it was an unusually slow day  — which was never a good sign in the medical world — the only time she was even able to spare a glance was during her lunch break or when she’d run to the bathroom. So when her phone buzzed with a text from Pierre as she sat at the nurses’ station, her brow furrowed as she unlocked the screen.
Are you free right now? I need to call you.
Laurel bit her lip, nerves threatening to boil over. He knew her schedule, he knew she was at work. What could be so important that it couldn’t wait? Are you okay? Did something happen?
He typed a response as soon as her text showed as delivered.  I’m not hurt, it’s not bad, really, I just need to tell you something and I don’t want to have to do it over text.
Laurel checked her watch. 11:18. It was early for a lunch break, but as long as she wasn’t needed, she could take her half hour any time between 11 and 1. She caught the eye of her charge nurse. “Claudette? I’m taking my lunch if that’s alright with you.” Claudette nodded, and Laurel quickly made her way to the locker room to grab her leftover pasta, texting Pierre on the way. Headed to the changing room now. Are you going to tell me what this is about?
Her phone rang a minute later, when she had just closed the door. She tapped the green button. “You’re going to have to tell me what’s going on here, P, because I’m kind of freaking out,” Laurel said, laughing nervously. “You don’t tell a girl what to expect, she starts assuming the worst.”
Pierre let out a heavy breath. She could imagine him running a hand through his hair on the other end. “I know, and I’m sorry if I worried you. I just needed to tell you before it breaks.”
“Before what breaks, Pierre?” Laurel’s anxiety was coming to a head.
“I’m coming home.”
Laurel screwed her eyes shut, even more confused than she was before. “Yeah, Pierre, I know you’re playing here next week. Why would that be news?”
“When’s the trade deadline, Laurel?”
“Last Monday in February, but I don’t see what that has…” She pulled the phone away from her ear, looking down at the screen, eyes locking on the date. “You got traded?”
She could imagine him sitting down on the edge of his couch, one hand dangling off the side, Georgia trying to jump up and goad him into giving her a pet or two. “They’re breaking it right before the noon deadline, but you deserved to know before everyone else did. You needed to know.”
Laurel leaned up against her locker, hand over her mouth. “You’re coming to Montréal?” She had seen it mentioned offhand on a few Twitter accounts she followed the handful of times she had logged on in the past week, but nobody thought it would actually happen. Even the concept of trading him seemed so far-fetched with the type of season he was having in Columbus. He was sitting near 30 goals and 40 assists, with one of the best plus-minus scores on the team. It just didn’t make sense.
“As of twenty minutes ago, I’m officially a Montréal Canadien,” Pierre answered.
“Oh God,” Laurel said, sympathy lacing her voice. She couldn’t let herself be excited, wouldn’t let herself be excited, until she knew exactly how Pierre felt about it. He had just been uprooted from the team that drafted him, where he’d played for four seasons and made friends and where everyone saw him as the future of the franchise.
Pierre let out a single laugh. “They let me know what the deal was, apparently Montréal really wanted me. First round pick next year, a second-year defenseman, some prospect from Laval.”
Laurel settled on the bench, tucking the phone under her chin. “Of course they really wanted you, P. You’re an incredible player, you’d be an asset to any team and you’re going to do great things in Montréal.” She paused. “But how are you feeling about the move? I know it’s not what you were expecting. Or what anyone was expecting, really.”
“It’s weird,” Pierre said after a moment. “Obviously yeah, I won’t lie, it’s a shock. But almost every player, even the really good ones, get traded at one point or another. Gretzky was traded to L.A.”
“Are you comparing yourself to Gretzky?” Laurel asked playfully.
“No,” Pierre chuckled. “But just trying to remind myself that it was almost inevitable. I’m allowed to be sad about it — and I am, it’s going to fucking suck leaving the boys — but I’m not as torn up as I thought I’d be if this ever happened.” He felt more than a little bad about it, but his first thought when his agent called and broke the news wasn’t sadness, it wasn’t despair at having to leave the team he had been brought up in and the men he considered his brothers. It was relief. Relief that he could be closer to his family, relief that he’d be back with Laurel, relief that he was going home. “And hey,” he said, catching Laurel’s attention. “You know what?”
Laurel rolled her eyes. “What?”
“I don’t even have to marry someone to move.”
---
Pierre’s flight got in late Tuesday night, just after Laurel’s shift at the hospital had ended. He had said he wouldn’t mind taking an Uber home so she didn’t have to rush over and stress about traffic, but Laurel didn’t care. She wanted to be at the airport to pick up her husband, even if it meant she’d still be in her scrubs doing it.
She saw him exiting the sliding doors of the international terminal before she even turned the corner, practically slamming her car into park as soon as she hit the curb. Pierre dropped his bags when her car door opened, paying no attention to the thump of the suitcases as they hit the ground or the wandering eyes of passersby. Airports hadn’t always been his favorite place. They meant leaving the people he loved, going away from what was warm and familiar and safe. They usually meant uncertainty. But that had changed, Pierre thought, as his wife jumped into his arms, her legs wrapping around his waist as their lips met. Airports might just have become one of his favorite places. He pulled back from the kiss, their foreheads just barely touching. “Hi,” he said.
Laurel smiled, the kind of smile that lit up rooms and made crying babies giggle and that Pierre was pretty sure was his favorite thing he’d ever seen in the world. “Welcome home.”

Land of the Free and Home of the Wayne pt 10
masterlist
ao3 whole story
Summary: Alya figures out that Lila is a liar and Lila sets out a personal attack at Jon to weaken her opponents.
Marinette sat on her bed looking up at the ceiling wondering how she had gotten herself into this mess and what she did to deserve everything that was happening to her. Lila was becoming more powerful, Damian was becoming more intriguing, and this trip was becoming a disaster. There was no way that she would make it to the end of the trip, she had to find a way to get home, there was no other option. She heard a knock on her door and opened it to see Alya standing there nervously wringing her wrists. Marinette tried to close the door but Alya put a hand out trying to stop it.
"I know the truth, you were right," Alya said, making Marinette freeze and Alya slipped inside the room.
"You'd have to be more specific, I'm right about 99.9% of the time," Marinette said sitting back down on her bed.
"About everything with Lila, she doesn't know the prince, she never saved Jagged's cat cause he doesn't have one and never did, she isn't dating Damian Wayne cause I just saw them threaten her down the hallway, everything she said sounded ridiculous but it sounded cool. I shouldn't have wanted to be friends with a liar like that and I'm sorry. I just hope that you can try to forgive me," Alya said sitting at the foot of her bed and Marinette sighed.
"Could I just have some time? I need to think," Marinette said and Alya got up and left the room. If Alya knew about the lies then what's to say that the rest of the class wouldn't turn on her too? Alya would be an outcast but a well-resourced outcast. Marinette's thoughts were interrupted by another knock on the door. She got up and flung the door open. "What?" she asked before really looking at who was there and seeing Jon's shocked face and wide eyes made her immediately apologize.
"No, no it's fine Marinette, how are things?" Jon asked, walking in awkwardly.
"Fine," Marinette said just as awkward.
"I'm not going to beat around the bush, I know that you're the pen pal that won the contest raffle thing to get here and I'm so happy that it's you and not one of the other girls who think that they would go on some romantic double date with Lila and Damian who aren't really a couple, in fact, Damian kind of hates Lila... a lot," Jon rambled and Marinette just smiled at him.
"Makes sense that it would be you, you are a friend of the Waynes," Marinette said, smiling slightly at him.
"Glad we got that out there, but that also means that I know how long Lila's been bullying you and as much as I hate to end the fun that Damian, Mar'i, and I have been having, I think we should at least tell Bruce or Dick cause they could put an end to it," Jon said and Marinette sighed before straightening up.
"What do you mean by fun?" Marinette asked, wondering what he was up to.
"Just some pranking and threatening, it's not that abnormal in this house," Jon said and Marinette got up and opened her door going to walk out of her room but Lila was standing there and Jon was rushing over to Marinette's side in an instant.
"Wow, I should have known that you were faking being gay, what was it, just a phase or something? I can't believe it was a brat like her who finally made you realize that you were faking your pathetic excuse of homosexuality. At least now you won't have to burn in hell," Lila said flipping her hair and walking away.
Jon stared after her eyes wide, not breathing. It was a hard hit but not an unfamiliar hit either. Girls had tried to ask him out all the time wondering when he might get over his "homosexual phase" and started showing more and more skin. His friend Kathy was the only one who understood what he was going through since she was a closet lesbian in a relationship with another closeted girl in the school. The words just a phase stung.
Marinette started shaking her friend as he blinked fast trying to will tears away. "Jon?" Marinette asked, cupping his face to look into his eyes.
"I have to go," Jon said, running out of the room and to the living room with the entrance to the batcave. Surprisingly everyone was in there but Bruce. Jon started crying and Dick and Kory rushed over to him as he collapsed in their arms and they led him over to the couch.
"You're not really gay, just give me one night and I can prove it," a girl that Jon had never seen before came up to him.
"Yeah, not really interested plus I'm like thirteen," Jon said trying to push her away without hurting her.
"Really, you look so much older," the girl said getting even closer into his personal space. "Are you sure that one night couldn't hurt you?" Jon now knew who this girl was, she was the senior that hooked up with everyone in the school. Jon pushed her back and watched as she drunkenly fell to the floor.
Jon looked up into Jason’s eyes as he yelled trying to get his attention. “What the fuck did this bitch do to you?” Jason asked and Damian sighed.
“There’s no way that she can stay here anymore,” Dick said pulling out his phone to call Bruce down to the room but Jon ran over taking it.
“What the hell kid?” Jason said pulling out his phone.
“Sh-she can’t go a-anywhere until we p-prove Marinette i-innocent,” Jon said, wiping away fresh tears.
“We could always introduce her to Clark,” Mar’i said from the corner. The bats started talking about a plan to get Clark to take Lila down a level and Jon snuck out of the room and down the hall to his favorite window sitting on the large ledge curling a leg close to his body. The stars looked especially clear and he became focused on the solar systems and planets that he had visited until he felt a hand on his shoulder.
“Hey, what are you up to?” Adrien asked standing next to him.
“Just thinking, people think that I’m just going to grow out of being gay like an old pair of shoes and start liking girls. It’s like they don’t trust my judgment,” Jon said looking back out the window chin finding its way back to his knee.
“Here, stand up,” Adrien said, offering a hand. “You will never be just some phase to me,” Adrien said lifting Jon’s chin to look in his eyes.
“Good, 'cause you aren’t either.” Adrien’s eyes widened slightly for a second before smiling down at Jon.
“Is it ok if I…” Jon pulled Adrien’s head down pressing their lips together. They stayed like that for a few seconds just feeling the other’s presence before hands shifted to hips and shoulders breathing each other in. Jon lowered his heels back down to the ground, breaking the kiss laughing slightly as Adrien tried to chase his lips downward.
“I’d say it’s pretty ok with me,” Jon said resting his head on Adrien’s shoulder holding him tight.
Mar’i peered from around the corner holding her phone to take pictures for Kagami.
Kagami: I’m surprised it took this long.
Mar’i: Only two more idiots left.
Kagami: I can not wait for our chat Sunfire.
Mar’i: Me too Kagami.

Matter Of The Heart (Tom Holland X Reader) - Chapter One
Tumblr media
Summary: (y/n) doesn’t expect much more out of her life, mostly because it’s ending. However, she definitely didn’t expect to catch the eye of a famous actor who likes to visit the kids on her floor.
Warnings: diseases and medical issues are talked about, mentions of death, curse words
Tumblr media
I woke up to the shining sun beaming in from the windows to the right of me, illuminating the entire room in a golden light. I could hear birds chirping as they welcomed the new day with gratitude and grace. Ugh, what show offs.
I grumpily pulled my personal duvet over my head, trying to block out the streams of light long enough to fall back to sleep.
I knew I was supposed to be awake and that I would probably get shit about this from my doctor, but I really wanted to sleep. I mean, come on, who else doesn’t want to sleep in a few hours more than they’re supposed to.
I sighed in contentment when I was finally able to make it dark enough for me to drift back into sleep. Unfortunately, I was stirred again by a persistent knocking at my door. Damn it, Jade.
“Go away,” I gracefully responded with hair stuck in my mouth.
“You need to be up, (y/n). You have scheduled equipment today,” Jade replied, opening the door as she spoke.
Jade is one of my favorite nurses that works at the hospital. I, of course, would never tell her that, but it doesn’t make it any less true.
“But, it’s so early. Why can’t I ever just rest peacefully and undisturbed. You know medical professionals say to get eight hours of sleep, yet it’s the medical professionals that wake me up before I can get that.”
Jade rolled her eyes at me, “First of all, it’s 10:30 in the morning, so you should have gotten well past eight hours of sleep if you weren’t binge watching an entire season of Supernatural. Second of all, if we left you undisturbed, you would sleep till 5:00 at night and then the night crew would be very upset about having to take care of you on top of their patients who need 24/7 surveillance. So, stop being dramatic and get out of bed.”
I couldn’t help the small grimace that grew on my face as she spoke. We both knew she was right and I had no choice but to get up for the day.
“Fine, but only if I get at least an hour to myself today. I want the promise of not being watched every 10 minutes.”
Jade gave me a look of understanding while she set up her cart. Every morning, she would take my vitals to make sure everything was working right.
“I know it’s difficult, sweetie. You’re an 18 year old girl who doesn’t even get to step outside of the hospital without a nurse with you. It’s tough, but you have to understand that we’re only here to make sure you can live as long as you can. We need to watch you every 10 minutes to make sure that the world can have it’s beautiful (y/n) for as long as it can.”
Jade stopped prepping her needles and came to give me a hug. I sat up and held her back tightly, knowing that she spoke from her heart. That’s one of the things I loved about her and all of the other staff members at the hospital, they genuinely cared about the patients here.
She pulled back from me, giving me a smile as she went back to her cart. “Now then, let’s get you checked up so you can get dressed.”
I nodded at her and crawled to the end of the bed, putting out my arm for her to take my blood pressure.
I knew by now what the routine was for the mornings. Blood pressure, temperature, heart beat, and blood samples.
Every morning a nurse would come in and do these tests without fail. At night it’s similar, but I don’t get any blood work done. It’s then that they reconnect me to the heart monitor and put the IV back in me. The doctors want me to be hydrated as much as I can be, so they slowly have me receive saline when I’m sleeping.
Once Jade was done, she left me on my own to get changed, promising that she would be back in 10 minutes to make sure I got some food in me.
I looked through my suitcase, trying to find something comfortable for the day. I was very limited in what I could wear because of testing and the fact that I only can wear what fits in the suitcase. That’s why Aunt Avery exchanges my clothes every two weeks, so I can have different styles.
I grabbed a cute pair of black sweatpants and a white top to go along with it. I didn’t feel like having shoes on today, so I just put on a pair of socks.
Once I was done, I grabbed my phone from the bedside table.
“Guys, please. I can’t answer all zero of my notifications at once.”
“That’s kinda sad, you realize that.”
I jumped at the sound of Jade’s voice from behind me. I turned around to face her only to see her silently laughing at me.
“Hey, I need to keep myself entertained. The best way to do that is to always keep up my amazing sense of humor, even when I’m alone. Besides, are you surprised I don’t have any texts? I live in the pediatric ward of a hospital.”
She only shook her head at me before placing a tray of food on the table.
“It’s still sad. Anyway, you need to eat before your echocardiogram.”
I sighed before complying. I’m so tired of laying down while doctors poke and prod me for answers. I mean come on, is it really that bad if I go outside just for a walk?
Jade left me to eat my eggs alone as she went to see another patient.
“Well then, I guess it’s just you and me Mr. Goldberg,” I pitifully said while putting on You.
Every day at the hospital is just like the last. I do testing, then eat, do more testing, take a walk, maybe go to the day room, do even more testing, sleep, and repeat. I swear one day they’ll transfer me to the mental ward if they keep this up.
I had just finished my eggs and episode six of season two when Jade came back in to see me.
“So, how was your breakfast? Are you still hungry?”
“I’m always hungry, you should know that by now. I’m satiated for now, but give it an hour or so. The food was good though.”
Jade gave me a smile and a small laugh before putting the food tray in a bin in the hallway for the janitors to take back to the cafeteria.
“I know, I know, I’m such a comedian. Maybe I can do that for a living. You think the hospital would employ me?”
She laughed louder this time, putting her hands on my shoulder, prompting me to stand up.
“Come on, sweetie. It’s time for your echocardiogram. Maybe you can come up with new material while they do it.”
I put my hands over my heart in mock defense. “That hurts. That truly wounded me, Jade. I may need to request a new nurse.”
We continued to joke around as we made our way to the fourth floor where they have a cardiologist office.
“Ah, Miss (y/l/n), you’re here, finally,” Mrs. Denver told me as I walked through the door. I gave her a fake smile and rolled my eyes as she turned her back. She’s a very condescending woman.
Jade gave me a pointed look before squeezing my shoulder and leaving me to fend for myself. By now I know the routine. I do whatever tests Doctor Hasting wants me to do and then I’m free to roam the hospital until 1:30 when a nurse meets me in the cafeteria.
“Okay, here’s the dressing gown I need you to change into. You can wait in the last room on your left. The Doctor will meet you there in a minute, but you know that with all the times you’ve come here.”
I gave her another fake smile, “Thank you, Mrs. Denver.”
I made my way to the room she told me to go to and changed quickly. Ugh, this hospital gown does nothing for my figure.
I sat down on the examining table and waited for about five minutes before Doctor Hasting arrived.
“Hello, (y/n), are you ready for your echocardiogram?”
I nodded in response to her words, just wanting to get this over with quickly.
“That’s great and I have some good news for you. We only need to do one other test today, you’ll be done here in about an hour. So let's get started then.”
I sighed in relief before laying on my back as she started to prepare the machines.
True to her word, I was able to leave after about an hour went by. She told me that she would give the information she gathered from my results to one of my nurses once all of the charts are printed.
Smiling, I changed back into my sweatpants and t-shirt and said goodbye to the staff in the clinic.
I made my way to the first level of the building, planning on walking in the garden. I was just about to reach the garden doors when I heard my name being called behind me. Shit.
“(y/n)! (y/n)! I know you can hear me.”
I turned around to face Jade. “Bro, this is some of my only alone time. I’m supposed to meet you in the cafeteria at 1:30.”
She gave me a pointed look, “Well, I’m sorry that I thought you might want to know that you’ve been cleared to visit other patients.”
My eyes widened at her news, “I can go see the kids? Are you being serious?”
She smiled brightly back at me while nodding her head, “You sure can, sweetheart. I know there’s some little patients that have been wanting to see you for the last three weeks.”
For the past month, I’ve been quarantined from the other patients. The doctors have had me pumped with medication that lowers my white blood count and makes it hard for my immune system to fight back any diseases. They figured that the best course of action would be to keep me away from other sick patients.
I know it’s not cool to be excited to hang out with a bunch of kids in a pediatric ward, but I can't help it. They’re amazing kids who are insanely strong considering everything what they are being put through.
I also know that they absolutely love to see me. I mean, who can blame them though. They think it’s cool to be around an older girl and I get some hope back being around them.
“When can I see them?”
“Right now is preferred. There’s actually a very special guest arriving today, so you may not want to miss that.”
I kind of stopped paying attention after Jade told me that I could see the kids right now.
I started walking towards the activity room, “Come on, what are you waiting for?”
Jade laughed at me before meeting me at my side, “You really love those kids don’t you?”
I scoffed, trying to act cool, “They’re okay. I mean okay for a bunch of snot ridden children.”
She rolled her eyes at me, bumping my shoulder. “I don’t blame you for caring about them. They’re good kids. They’re also very brave for facing their illnesses like they do. Kind of reminds me of a certain someone when they were younger.”
I lightly smile while looking away. I don’t remember much of my first hospital visit, but I was told I was unaffected by everything. I didn’t really understand my condition when I was 6, I only knew that I had lost my mom and brother. I do remember my second visit though. I was diagnosed then. It was hard for me to deal with, but I never let anyone know that.
It’s still scary sometimes, knowing that I can die at any time.
We had finally reached the activity room after a couple of minutes.
The room was arranged strangely. All of the chairs and the couches were facing a huge open space at the front. I barely remember Jade mentioning a guest, but even when people do visit, they don’t usually rearrange the room. It takes too much time out of the faculties day.
“(y/n)! You’re here!”
I quickly changed my focus to a little girl in a pink long-sleeved shirt, tutu, and crown.
“Luna! Oh, I’m so sorry. I didn’t realize I was in the presence of royalty. Hello, you’re majesty,” I finished with a curtsy and a wide smile on my face.
“You may stand,” Luna told me while I chuckled under my breath. She really is something else.
“How are you, princess?”
“I’m great. The doctor told me that the bad thing in my brain is going to go away soon.”
I couldn’t help the tears that began to pool in my eyes as I hugged her. “That’s amazing, Luna. That means you’re going to be all better,” I said, truly happy for her.
“Why were you gone so long?”
She pulled away from my hug as she looked up at me. “I had to do a lot of tests and procedures for the doctors. The medicine they gave me made me really weak and made my monster protection kind of low. That’s why I couldn’t come see any of you.”
Luna jumped up and down, “That means you’re going to be all better too. My mommy always tells me when I have to meet with my doctors that the more I do it, the more I get better. You were gone a long time, so that must mean you’re close to being better too.”
I really didn’t know what to tell her. I know I wasn’t going to get better, but I couldn’t tell her that. She needs to have hope in all aspects of her life.
I turned my head up to meet Jade’s eyes. She held so much sadness in them knowing that the only way I was getting out of the hospital was in a hearse.
I quickly turned back to Luna, “That’s right, honey. But that doesn’t really matter right now. What’s important is that you’re going to be all better really soon.”
She smiled back at me, “You’re going to be healed soon too. James, Elena, William, Quinton! Did you hear (y/n)? She’s going to be better soon.”
I didn’t notice that some of the other kids gathered around Luna and I during our conversation.
I looked back at Jade, not knowing what to do.
Luckily, she saved me, “Come one kids. Our special guest is almost here. Lets get some seats in the front row, yeah?”
I nodded at her in gratitude as she lead the small group to some chairs.
“(y/n), are you coming?” Luna asked me.
“I’m actually going to stand in the back, okay? That way I don’t block any of your guy’s views.”
“Okay!”
I watched as Luna skipped to the front to meet with the rest of her friends. I really do love those kids.
I made my way to the back of the room as some more patients from the pediatric ward came in.
I’ve never seen this big of a turn out for one of these things. It’s kind of weird to be in a room of this many people.
I watched as the last of the kids arrived and took their seats.
Jade surveyed the room before standing in the open space at the front of the room.
“Hello everybody. So, today we have a very special guest. Now, he’s going to be here any second so I want to say a few things. He came all the way from Queens to see all of you so I expect you all to be very nice and pay attention to our guest. Can you all do that?”
A chorus of ‘yes’s rang through the room.
I zoned out after Jade started to talk again. I knew I should probably listen to her, but I honestly didn’t care enough.
The guest speaker was probably some clown or mime coming to cheer up the kids. Then again, she did say the guest came all the way from queens. Maybe, it was some inspirational speaker.
A round of applause and the sound of excited cheers drew me out of my thoughts. I looked back at the front of the room to see what all of the commotion was about.
Is that … Spider-Man?

Baby Love -Part 6
Pairing: Chris Evans x Reader
A/N: Apologies my read more isnt working! WTF??
Tumblr media
Chris had held my hand the entire the time we walked the red carpet, where as usually my arm would casually be linked with his when i attended events with him. When he stopped for photo's he pulled me close, his hand either resting on my hip or the small of my back. The press covering the Charity Event had been all over us as soon as it was apparent that i was now more than just a friend. This news had blown up on social media and gossip columns of course!
"Will you put that down and eat" Chris mumbled as he walked into the kitchen to find me on the ipad again.
"Its been days and their still going on about it! Your fans hate me now by the way!"
"Babe we knew they'd be some hate, just stop looking at it. Remember its not good for the baby if you stress yourself out" he said sitting next to me and pulling the ipad from my hands "no more of that"
"Fine" i rolled my eyes stabbing a piece of fruit and popping it in my mouth"
"It will calm down i promise"
"Yeah eventually, then we're gonna drop the baby bombshell and all hell will break loose again"
"It will be fine, im sure theres plenty of nice things being said. Its just your only looking at the bad"
"Your lucky i love you Evans" i shook my head as i stabbed another piece of fruit, when I looked up Chris was looking at me with a huge cheesy smile "why are you smiling at me like that?"
"You just said you love me" he said smugly, i instantly felt myself start to panic..... shit, was it too soon to admit that??
"Well of course i love you...." i shrugged casually even though my heart was racing "your my best friend...."
"I love you too" he said quickly stopping my nervous ramblings as he leant forward pressing a kiss to my lips. We were soon interrupted by my cell phone ringing "ignore it" he mumbled against my lips making me laugh.
"I cant its probably your mom"
"Way to kill the mood sweetheart"
"Im sorry baby" i reached for my phone and quickly answered before it cut off.
"Hi Lisa"
"Hey sweetie, the girls and me are going to take you out for lunch today"
"You don't have to do that, I'm fine i promise"
"Shanna said she had been texting you and you seemed down so we're taking you out to take your mind off it"
"I don't even have anything to wear, I'm still at Chris's...."
"Well, we'll pick you up at your place at say 13:00? That gives you plenty of time to get home and dressed for lunch"
"Yeah okay, i guess that works"
"Okay, well i'll let you go and i'll see you at 13:00"
"See you then" i ended the call and turned to Chris "i gotta go"
"What, why?"
"Your mom and sisters are taking me to lunch to cheer me up apparently"
"So why do you have to leave now?"
"Because i haven't got anything to wear here, everything i had is dirty and i cant go to lunch in your shirt" i rolled my eyes at him "id better get my stuff together and get home. Their picking me up at 13:00" i gave him a quick kiss and walked out heading to his bedroom to get my things.
After shoving my dirty clothes back into my bag and pulling on my shorts i headed back out to find Chris sitting at the dining table staring out the window.
"You okay?" I asked running my fingers through his hair and placing a kiss to the side of his head. Chris looked up at me nodding with a smile before pulling me into his lap.
"I don't want you to go" he pouted making me chuckle.
"I gotta go baby, you know how difficult it is to tell your mom and sisters no"
"Move in with me" he suddenly said, i thought he was joking but when i leant back to look at him he was obviously being dead serious.
"What??"
"It makes sense that you move in, i mean your here with me more than your at your place anyway. Plus i want you and the baby here with me"
"Your serious aren't you...."
"Of course i am, it feels right when your here"
"Okay...." i nodded with a smile "if your sure thats what you want?"
"Yes!!"
"I still gotta go now though" i laughed before kissing him quickly and jumping up "i love you!" I called as i neared the front door.
"I love you too!".
Tumblr media
Lunch was at a little place called 'Lou's' it was a small family run Italian place Chris and I found years ago and absolutely loved. We were seated in back as soon as we arrived and the four of us were soon eating lunch and chatting away.
"I still cant believe you and Chris are finally together" Carly said taking a mouthful of her wine "and... pregnant" she whispered the last part.
"Yeah i know, it came as a bit of a shock to us too but I'm glad it happened. His honestly the best man i know" i said feeling myself blush.
"I think you make a cute couple" Shanna added smiling at me, we'd always gotten along well she was one of my closest friends.
"Thanks Shan, that means alot" i picked up my glass of water and took a sip.
The waitress approached our table offering to top up the wine glasses, as she got to mine i stopped her quickly and just asked for some more water. She looked at me with raised eyebrows, her name was Debra and she was so used to serving Chris and me and me usually drinking too much wine!
"Your not drinking?"
"Jesus Debra, you say that like Ive got a drinking problem" i joke with her "no, I'm just not feeling too great today so avoiding the alcohol"
"Your not pregnant are you!?" She laughed.
"Oh god no! Im fine really"
"Okay just checking" she winked and walked off.
"When are you guys gonna announce the news?" Shanna asked quietly from beside me.
"If i had my way? Never!"
"Sweetheart you'll be fine" Lisa added trying to be supportive, the truth was there was nothing anyone could say that would make me believe it would be okay.
"Im terrified, the things ive read online since that Charity Gala.... i can only imagine what will be said about this"
"We're all here for you both, you can always come to Boston and stay with us if you need a break"
"Thank you Lisa, when do you all head back to Boston?"
"End of the month, we'll come back nearer the time of.... you know" she nodded at my stomach.
"You don't have to do that...."
"I want to, your gonna need family around you"
"Im coming too!" Shanna added taking hold of my hand.
"You guys are the best, I've always thought of you as family.... you know i don't have anything to do with my own family...so I'm grateful for you all"
Tumblr media
While we were eating desert i got a message from Chris.
Hey sweetheart, your coming back here tonight right? Xx
"Is that brother of mine texting you already?" Shanna nudged me playfully.
"Yeah" i smiled as i replied to the message.
Hey babe, yeah i'll be back tonight after I've picked up some clean clothes and things xx
You need me to pick you up? Xx
Sure, i'll text you when I'm home. We're just finishing up desert shouldn't be much longer xx
I'll be waiting for your message, i miss you! Xx
Your so needy! :p xx
Miss you too though xx
"I'll be right back, I'm just gonna go to the bathroom" i told the girls before getting up and making my way out back.
Once i was done and was making my way back to our table i was suddenly approached by a guy holding a camera who was constantly snapping photo's of me.
"Excuse me sir you cant be in here doing that!" I heard Lou say loudly and start to lead the guy out, even then he didn't stop snapping photo's. Lisa, Shanna and Carly came rushing over hearing the commotion and got me back to our table hidden in the back.
"You okay hun?" Carly asked sitting me down in my chair.
"Yeah, just wasn't expecting that as soon as i stepped out of the bathroom"
"What an asshole" Shanna muttered making me laugh.
"Y/N I'm so sorry, i didn't see him come in" Lou said as he approached our table.
"Its fine Lou, you can't keep them away all the time" i smiled at him, once he could see we were okay he got back to work.
"Well so much for cheering you up" Lisa scoffed picking her wine glass up and drinking the rest in one gulp.
"You did cheer me up, I've had a lovely afternoon" i said truthfully even though i couldn't wait to get home to Chris.
Tumblr media
We settled the bill and got back to the cars, 30 minutes later i was home and packing my bag ready to head to Chris's.
Hey, what the hell happened at lunch? You got papped?? Xx
Yeah, guy just started taking photo's as i came out of the bathroom. It was fine Lou got him out xx
Your sure your okay? Xx
Im fine, come get me? Im Just finishing up packing my things xx
Im leaving now, wont be long xx
While i sat waiting for Chris the notifications on my social media accounts started going crazy! I opened one and saw a photo of me sitting having lunch with Chris's family, the caption stating how things must be getting serious if I'm having lunch with his family. The comments were mostly people saying how i didn't deserve to be with Chris and how much better he could do than me, that i was only with him for the fame and money.... i couldn't stop the tears that ran freely down my face.

Eternalism: Chapter IV
Hermione sighed as she wiped the sweat from her brow, pausing for a moment before resuming her chore of washing the floor. She had been at it for over an hour now and she was nowhere close to even being done.
Weeks had passed since her arrival and she was still struggling to get used to her new life. When she first heard that she would be going back in time to befriend Tom Riddle as a child, she had assumed that it would be easy. After all, how hard could it be? Clearly she had no idea just how hard it would be.
Life at Wool’s Orphanage was anything but pleasant. She had heard that orphans were often mistreated in this time, but she never quite understood until she was one herself. At the very least she could say that her days were not boring, as they were filled with lots of chores and lessons, leaving little time for leisure.
Each day basically consisted of the same routine.
Wake-up calls came at 6:30 AM, after which they would dress and line up to use the bathrooms. Then, they would head down to breakfast, which consisted of little else than porridge and the occasional piece of dry bread. After that, they were made to go back upstairs to tidy their rooms. Each morning, Mrs. Cole would come around and inspect the tidiness of each individual room. If you happened to pass her inspection, then you were given chores to do. If not… Let’s just say that she learned very quickly that Mrs. Cole did not tolerate any untidiness…
Once you were done with your chores, then you would attend classes. Hermione didn’t usually attend, seeing as she already knew how to read and write, but occasionally she would help some of the other children with their learning.
Dinner was at 8:00 PM and then it was straight off to bed. Needless to say, it was not a particularly exciting life and she longed for the day when she could leave this place behind and return to Hogwarts.
She now finally understood just what Harry had gone through at the Dursleys and why he dreaded going home each summer. She feared that she would dread it just as much.
At the thought of Harry, she couldn’t help but feel a twinge of homesickness. Many nights she had cried herself to sleep, wishing that she could see Harry and Ron again for even just a minute. How she wished for a comforting hug and a gentle reassurance, telling her that everything would be alright. Alas, she knew that was not something she was going to get.
Shaking those thoughts from her head, she forced herself to focus on the task at hand, reminding herself that the sooner she finished washing the floor, the sooner she could go up to her room and relax. She didn’t exactly have anything to do in her room, but it was still better than scrubbing floors until your hands hurt.
Eventually, she finished washing the floor, or at the very least, the part of it that she had been assigned to clean. With a nod of approval from Mrs. Cole, she headed upstairs, keen on taking a short nap.
She had just reached the second stairwell when she caught sight of Tom. It would appear that it was his job to wash the floor in the corridors. He hadn’t noticed her as he was facing the opposite way, but she could see that he was tired. His poor body was trembling with fatigue and she couldn’t help but notice that his hands and knees were scraped and bloodied, a sure sign that Mrs. Cole had scolded him again.
It was moments like these when she found herself conflicted. She knew of all the horrible things this boy would grow up to do and yet she couldn’t help but feel sorry for him. He was just a child, forced to endure torture unlike the rest of the children in the orphanage. For he was the only one she had ever found with any sort of markings on his skin. The others were left untouched for the most part.
As tired and miserable as she was, she picked up another bucket and washcloth and knelt down beside him to help.
“If you’re tempted to give up, think about how one day we’ll be gone from this place and we’ll never have to scrub floors again,” she whispered to him encouragingly.
He glanced over at her, a flicker of surprise passing through his eyes before he nodded and glanced back down again.
Together they managed to finish the corridor in record time. Hermione felt like collapsing after that, but she held herself together as they put away their cleaning supplies, tucking them into a nearby cupboard.
As soon as that was done, she headed over to the bathroom, which fortunately didn’t have a line-up at the moment, and wet a towel before making her way back over to Tom and using it to wipe his wounds.
“Why are you being so nice to me?” Tom asked. “You already know that I won’t do anything bad to you.”
She nodded her head. “I know that, but it’s what friends do.”
“Friends?”
The word sounded almost foreign coming from his mouth. It clearly wasn’t a word he used often. She couldn’t help but wonder if it was a word he had even heard before.
“Well yes, I like to think that you’re my friend,” she claimed. “After all, you’re really the only person who bothers to talk to me, let alone understand what I’m capable of.”
He didn’t reply to that as he seemed to be deep in thought, but didn’t stop her from cleaning his cuts and scrapes. The slightest wince every now and then let her know that he wasn’t completely unresponsive.
When she was done, she tucked the cloth into her pocket. She stayed there with him for a few moments, waiting for him to say something. After a while, she began to suspect that he wasn’t going to say anything. She had just turned and was about to head off to her room, when she felt a hand wrap around her wrist.
“You like books, right?”
Turning back to face him, she was surprised to see that he actually looked rather nervous. She was taken aback by this. Tom Marvolo Riddle, as in the future Lord Voldemort, was actually standing here before her, nervously asking her if she liked books. She was tempted to laugh, but stopped herself from doing so, as she didn’t think it was a good idea.
“I love books.”
Her response seemed to calm whatever nerves he had.
“I got a book from the library last week, and I… would you care to read it with me?”
Again, she was taken by surprise. It seemed that he too could be full of surprises.
Smiling up at him, she nodded her head eagerly. “I’d love to!”
It wasn’t nearly as full as her own, but he did manage to smile back at her a bit.
Now, she wasn’t exactly sure, for Tom wasn’t the easiest person to understand, but she got the feeling that this was his way of telling her that he did in fact want to be her friend. At the very least, he wanted to spend time with her, and that was good enough for her.
Feeling happy with the progress she was making with him, she followed him to his room, shutting the door behind them.
Tom picked up a rather thick hardcover book from his desk and climbed up onto his bed, patting the space next to him for her to join. Once the two of them were situated on the tiny bed, laying on their stomachs next to each other, they flipped open the book and began to read.
“Let me know when you’re finished with a page and I’ll turn it over.”
She found that, much to her delight, Tom was almost just as fast as her at reading. Not only that, but she found it thoroughly enjoyable to just read in silence with him. There weren’t a lot of people she could make such a claim about. She had always found it difficult to read with Harry and Ron around, as they were always making noise or asking her questions. It was nice to have someone who enjoyed the peace and quiet of reading just as much as she did.
They had read for over an hour and were almost done the whole book, when a knock suddenly came at the door.
Startling out of her book induced fantasy state, she looked around in a panic for somewhere to hide. If it was Mrs. Cole, and she couldn’t come up with any other ideas as to who would be knocking, she would surely scold her for being caught in Tom’s bedroom and maybe even punished. Mrs. Cole didn’t exactly like her spending time with him.
“Behind the door,” he whispered to her.
Nodding her head at the suggestion, she quickly climbed off the bed and dashed into the corner of the room where she knew she would be hidden from view.
A moment later, the door opened. Hermione held out her hands to stop the door from smashing into her.
“Tom, you’ve got a visitor,” Mrs. Cole said. “This is Mr. Dumberton... sorry, Dunderbore. He’s come to tell you… well, I’ll let him do it.”
It didn’t take Hermione long to figure out who Mrs. Cole was talking about.
Dumbledore... Not only was he alive, but he was in this very room with her and Tom. Having heard the story from Harry, she knew all about how Dumbledore himself had come to Tom to tell him about Hogwarts. Surely she had forgotten about him with everything that had happened since her arrival.
She heard a pair of heavy footsteps enter the room, presumably belonging to Dumbledore, followed shortly after by the sound of Mrs. Cole’s heels clicking away, closing the door on her way out.
“Oh good, you’re both here,” Dumbledore said, turning to Hermione with a kind smile. “This will make my job easier.”
Her eyes widened as she took in the sight of her former headmaster.
He was younger and much more vibrant looking. His long hair and beard which had once been as white as snow were now auburn and he was wearing a rather bizarre looking plum velvet suit.
“Miss Granger, I presume?”
She could only nod her head in reply as she momentarily found herself unable to speak.
“Who are you?” Tom asked, causing them both to return their focus to him. “What do you want with me and Hermione?”
Stepping towards him, Dumbledore held out his hand to Tom, who made no effort to take it. After a few moments, Dumbledore retracted his hand and pulled up the wooden chair to sit down.
“I am Professor Dumbledore.”
“Professor?” both Tom and Hermione repeated.
That was right. Dumbledore wasn’t the headmaster at this time. If she wasn’t mistaken, he had taught Transfiguration before Professor McGonagall.
“Is that like ‘doctor’?” Tom asked warily. “Did she send for you to have a look at us?”
Dumbledore shook his head. “No, no.”
Tom didn’t believe him, and now that she knew what he had gone through, and even experienced a taste of it for herself, she could honestly say that she understood why. It was hard for such a child to trust adults when the only adult he had grown up with abused him terribly.
“Who are you? Tell the truth!” he insisted, glaring at the man with glare so intense that it gave Hermione goosebumps.
Meanwhile, Dumbledore seemed completely unfazed by Tom, as he just sat there smiling pleasantly at him. “I do not lie. My name is Professor Dumbledore and I work at a school called Hogwarts. I have come to offer both of you a place at my school.”
What Tom did next once more surprised her. Leaping from his bed, he rushed past Dumbledore and over to her, stretching his body out as if to shield her from the professor.
“You can’t fool me! The asylum, that’s where you’re from, isn’t it?” he declared. “We’re not going and you can’t make us!”
She could hardly believe it… Had she really had that much of an impact on Tom that he would try to protect her, be it rather unnecessary, from a man he believed wished to harm them? It seemed too good to be true, and yet it appeared to be true nonetheless.
Fortunately, Dumbledore was nothing if not a patient man. “I am a teacher and, if you will both sit down calmly, I shall tell you about Hogwarts. Of course, if you would rather not come to the school, nobody will force you-”
“I’d like to see them try,” Tom cut him off.
Sensing that he wasn’t about to listen to anything Dumbledore had to say the way he currently was, Hermione reached out and placed a hand on his shoulder. She felt him tense momentarily under her touch, but soon relaxed as he realized it was just her. The poor boy really was paranoid and in desperate need of help.
“Tom, it’s okay,” she assured him. “I don’t think this man means to hurt us. I’m not saying we should trust him entirely, but we should at least hear what he has to say.”
After a moment, Tom finally gave in and dropped his arms, starting back towards the bed with her following shortly after him, sitting down on the bed next to each other. Tom kept his eyes on Dumbledore, but didn’t say a word more.
Professor Dumbledore then launched into the usual explanation about how Hogwarts was a school of magic, where young witches and wizards could come and learn to hone their special abilities. Tom was skeptical at first, still convinced that Dumbledore thought he was mad, but gradually started to calm down around him when he began to explain magic to them.
As they talked, Hermione couldn’t help but remember the day she first discovered magic back in her own time.
She had been much the same age as she currently was when none other than Professor McGonagall came to visit her and her parents at their home in Heathgate, Hampstead. At first she had been intimidated by the stern looking woman, but she quickly warmed up to her as she told her all about the wonders of magic.
With such memories at the forefront of her mind, she did her best to mimic the same reactions to what Dumbledore was telling her now.
Every now and then she would sneak a glance over at Tom to see how he was reacting to all of this. Harry had described to her how thrilled he had been to learn that he was a wizard, and while she did see a bit of excitement present, it wasn’t nearly as profound as Harry had made it sound. She wasn’t sure if it was just her own hopefulness, but she wondered if it had anything to do with the fact that she had already shown him some of her own magic.
When he was finished speaking he took out his wand and pointed it towards the small wardrobe in the far corner. No sooner had he done so than a rattling sound came from deep within.
“I think there is something trying to get out of your wardrobe.”
Tom hesitated briefly but crossed the room and opened the door to it. Much like her own, it was bare, save for a couple odd pieces of clothing. On the very top shelf there was a small cardboard box, shaking quite uncontrollably.
Hermione couldn’t help but glance at Dumbledore apprehensively. What was he playing at? Why would he be concerned with the few belongings that Tom had in this world?
“Take it out,” the professor instructed.
With trembling hands, Tom plucked the box from it’s shelf and brought it back over. There was something unsettling in Dumbledore’s eyes as he silently motioned for the boy to show him what was inside. Whatever it was, Hermione didn’t like that particular look.
Lifting the lid off the box, Hermione was confused to find that there was nothing much out of the ordinary inside; a red yo-yo, a silver thimble and a tarnished mouth organ. The way Dumbledore was acting, she had half-expected there to be something terrible inside like a human skull.
“Thieving is not tolerated at Hogwarts.”
Her eyes widened slightly. Were these actually things that Tom had stolen? It didn’t quite make sense to her as to why he would go through the trouble of stealing such ordinary objects? She might not have known him long, but she felt she knew him well enough to know that he had little interest in much else than reading.
“Yes, sir,” Tom said in a voice that lacked any and all emotion.
Dumbledore then turned to face her. “Is there anything you wish to admit to, Miss Granger?”
She suddenly felt as though the air had been stolen from her lungs as she felt her body stiffen. Surely she had heard wrong… It couldn’t be… Why would Dumbledore think so badly of her? And how did he even know that Tom had stolen those things.
Maybe it was the result of the lingering resentment she felt towards him at forcing her to make this trip into the past, but his insinuation left her feeling angry.
“No, sir,” she practically spat at him.
Nodding his head, he relented in his accusations and reached into his coat pocket, pulling out a pair of identical letters, both bearing the seal of Hogwarts.
As they read their letters, Dumbledore explained all about their student fund for school supplies and how they would need to go to Diagon Alley to purchase what they needed. Dumbledore offered to take the two of them himself, but Tom shot his offer down without hesitation, insisting that they would be just fine on their own.
“When you find the Leaky Cauldron, you must go inside and ask for Tom the barman. Easy enough to remember, as he shares your name.”
She noticed the way that Tom’s lips twitched irritably at the mention. Harry had mentioned that he always hated his name.
Once they had all that they needed, Dumbledore got up from the chair, pushing it back towards the desk and headed for the door.
“I look forward to seeing you both on the first of September.”
Then, without further ado, he left.
Hermione let out a deep breath as she collapsed back onto the bed. Perhaps it was just the chores catching up with her, but Dumbledore’s visit had left her feeling exhausted. She had never known Dumbledore to treat children so suspiciously. Well, no that wasn’t entirely true. He had never been entirely truthful with her and Harry as they were growing up, always hiding things from them, but he had never treated them like this.
“I don’t trust him.”
She nodded her head in agreement, when a previous question came back to mind.
“Did you really steal those objects?”
He didn’t reply for the first while as he stared blankly at the contents inside of the box. Reaching in, he picked up the tarnished mouth organ and held it up for her to see.
“This is the only object I own in the whole world. Mrs. Cole found it in my mother’s pocket. She said it belonged to my father.”
Turning it over, he showed her the inscription on it. Inscribed in neat letters was the name ‘Thomas Riddle’.
She didn’t know what to say to that. Considering the fact that she probably knew more about his parents than he did at the moment, she decided not to say anything at all about it.
“And the other two?” she asked. “They don’t seem like things you’d be particularly interested in.”
The tips of his mouth tugged up ever so slightly at that. “You’re right. They were lying around in the room when I got here, left by its previous occupant no doubt.”
Well, at the very least it was a relief to know that he hadn’t actually stolen anything. Though that didn’t answer why Dumbledore had accused him of stealing in the first place. The only thing she could think of was that maybe Merope had stolen the mouth organ from Tom Riddle Sr and that Dumbledore had brought it up to try and encourage Tom not to follow in his family’s particularly twisted footsteps.
Again, Dumbledore never had been easy to understand.
“Do you think he was telling the truth? About the school he mentioned and about magic?”
“Yes, I think he was. I mean, how else would you explain what we can do?” she answered without hesitation. “He’s offering us a chance to leave this place, maybe not permanently as we’d probably return over summer holidays, but we’d still be gone for the whole school year.
The thought of that certainly seemed to brighten his mood as a full fledged smirk spread across his face. “I suppose it would be worth it to be able to leave the old cat behind.”
“That’s a horrible thing to say, Tom! An insult of the worst kind to all cats!”
Tom did something that she had never seen him do before. He laughed, and it wasn’t at all like she expected. It wasn’t evil or maniacal at all. It was actually a rather pleasant sound. She couldn’t help but join in. As mean as it seemed to say, she couldn’t exactly deny that Mrs. Cole was deserving of the joke.

Dont Stand So Close To Me (pt. 2)
https://archiveofourown.org/works/23349577/chapters/55997644
He had sent an email. Innocuous enough. Simply describing the bare minimum of what she would be doing which boiled down to being in his company. He had thought of a few set tasks she would be expected to do: make tea, edit chapters, read reference books, etc.
Jonathan was so terrified to even think of her response. She had already agreed in person. Shouldn't that be enough?  No, he knew it wasn't. Nothing would ever be enough but having it in writing before him, having something physical to hold describing how bound she was to him was a start.
Soon.
Soon was in fact sooner than he thought, as she replied enthusiastically within minutes. Jonathan couldn't leave his desk, he just kept rereading her email. What did she mean when she said she was “delighted to work in such esteemed company” Was that flattery? How would she have said “I would love to grab tea with you sometime to go over details?” He imagined the words flying off her lips like a song. What was the exact intent behind her saying “love”? Was it absentminded? Intentional? A romantic implication? Regardless of the actual meaning, it was by far his favorite sentence in the email.
Holding the email so tightly in his mind, he almost felt badly for offering her a position that didn't exactly exist. But it exists now, even if I only created it yesterday. While all Jonathan could think about was spending more time with her, however innocent, he started to worry if this was good for her. Am I just wasting time when she could have an actual job? When she should be with her friends? Writing her thesis?
No, he reasoned with himself. He was a world renowned anthropologist by the age of 25 and had gladly accepted the title of professor at the ripe age of 27. No, being with him would be good for her. He could take care of her, and her career too. Having his name on her resume, as an employer, a recommendation, he could even write her in as coauthor if this book ever started to form beyond scribbled notes. He would gladly help her with her thesis, and would have no issues financially reimbursing her for her time.
No, this was not simply a selfish plan to be with her. He truly had her best interests at heart.
~~~~~~~
Two days, an entire two days sustaining himself with only memories of her face, had passed. Finally it was time to see her in lecture again. Though one of the most difficult tasks of his life, he forced himself not to stare, and in fact avoided eye contact entirely. He was quite proud of his self control, though he secretly feared she would see him as rude or cold.
It didn't appear his treatment had bothered her at all as she walked up to him after class beaming.
“Thank you for your email, were you by chance able to see my response?” she asked unassumingly. I've read it hundreds of times. I never knew four lines could excite me so much.
“Yes, I'm sorry I never got a chance to reply!” He ruffled a hand through his hair, quite proud that he had refrained from a gushing email in response. “It's been a very busy week for me between grading papers, meetings and such.” That sounded a lot more professional than ‘I was laying in bed for two days trying to remember your voice’.
“Oh well if you’re not terribly busy at the moment would you like to grab tea now?” She asked, her big round eyes wide with hope. She is definitely asking for a date.
“I think that would be a wonderful break from all of this stress. If you don't mind I know the perfect place.” Jonathan was practically glowing, so terribly excited that this little date was her idea!
The pair strolled out of the academic building idly chatting then somehow she missed a step and nearly face-planted on the ground. Luckily Jonathan’s eyes had never left her, so he was quick to the catch, carefully hoisting her up as she laughed at herself.
“You tripped me!” Was she joking? Did she like my touch?
“I did not! You fell down the stairs.” Jonathan protested.
“Blaming your faux pas on an inanimate object is insulting.” There was that little quirk of her lips again, like she was challenging him to fight and tease back.
Jonathan blushed a bit, rapidly letting go of her waist, “Just please try not to get hurt. I've gotten more scraped knees on these stairs than I care to count.” And she laughed. He was positive it was the most heavenly sound he’d ever heard. It rang out deep, throaty, and totally uninhibited, despite there being many students around.
They made it a few blocks farther as she started telling a story about a Latin teacher she had in high school. She assured him that the teacher was insane in all of the best ways. She was so busy describing their reenactment of the roman tortoise formation that she tripped over her own foot- and right into Jonathan’s arms. Now it was his turn to laugh.
“Was that intentional or are you usually this clumsy” Or do you like being in my arms as much as I love holding you?
“No no, it's just hard to focus on walking when you’re next to me” She didn't look down or pretend to hide her blush, she just continued to grin and look up at him. In that case should I just carry you the rest of the way?  Could I pass that off as a joke in case she was being witty?
Sadly they were nearly to the shop. Jonathan had taken her to a cozy little English tea shop nestled in what looked like an old townhouse. He greeted the old couple who ran the shop warmly. He was such a regular, and one of the few Brits in the city, that they had become quick friends.
She quickly exchanged her greetings with the owners before taking a seat with Jonathan at a prim little table. She had only ordered a cup of lavender earl grey, but Jonathan proceeded to change it to a pot, and then added on a pot of Irish breakfast, and a three tiered tea stand. When it arrived it was filled to the brim with tea fancies, sandwiches, marmalades, and biscuits. She stared at him agape.
“Sorry, I didnt have lunch and I'm quite hungry,” He ran his fingers through his hands again, not wanting to look like a man who stuffed his face. “Have as much as you like though! I can always order another.” She simply smiled and took a small biscuit.
Over afternoon tea they discussed the details of her job. She would edit transcripts, mail them to the publisher (whose address in this case was Jonathan’s P.O. box), read any books that may pertain to the subject of his thesis, and any extraneous activities that he may need. Such as making tea (he could not function for long without a cup), bringing lunch, keeping him company etc. Is it too late to add sucking me off under my desk as a routine event? Those were the sort of things normal assistants did right? Pleasing their boss for a raise?
 Jonathan shocked himself with the perverted and unwelcome thought. He pushed it far down within himself gritting his teeth with disgust. He loathed the way he thought about her like that, especially when there was nothing but a flimsy table separating them. But he couldn't deny how often that situation played in his mind.
With the details agreed upon, she would start compiling and digitizing his notes the next day. The lunch ended soon after, but not before Jonathan asked for her phone number for faster contact of course. Definitely not for more personal conversations.
~~~~~~~
Walking up to his office the next evening Jonathan heard some girls whispering rather loudly as he approached. One glared daggers at him so he paused to listen, but could only make out phrases of their conversation.
“Professor Joestar”
“that girl from his 11:00 class”
“couldn't keep their hands off each other”
“Teacher’s pet”
“Probably fucked in his office”
It took a good deal to make Jonathan mad, but this was more than enough. He was practically vibrating with rage at the blatant disrespect of her and himself. Over things that haven't even happened yet No things that would never happen. Things that couldn't happen.
“Excuse me girls, I couldn't help but overhear your rather loud conversation concerning me and your classmate. If you have any issues I would be happy to discuss them with me during my office hours.” He peered between the girls, all of them haughty with sneers of jealousy on their faces. “But I dont think Ive ever seen any of you there before…”
“Teachers pet, you said?” Jonathan looked into the redhead’s eyes, the girl who had made the snide remark. “Kaylee is it? Perhaps you would be ‘teacher’s pet’ if you attended office hours and didn't already have a C in my class two weeks in.” He glared at all the girls now, giggling at their friend’s misfortune.
“I recommend putting more effort into my class than this nonsense.”
Horribly cruel girls, he couldn't believe they had the nerve to mock not just their professor, but her too. He gave them a curt nod before walking quickly away, though not in the direction of his office. He could skip grading papers this evening. He needed her immediately.
He took out his phone and finally dialed the number that his fingers had been itching for. “Hello?”
“Jonathan, is everything alright? Did I forget to do something?”
“No, everything is fine. Are you free to come over to my apartment tonight?” Oh that sounded too suggestive  But before he could think of some reason she must immediately come over, she replied.
“I’d be happy to,” he could practically hear her grinning through the phone, “what’s the address?”

"can we talk for a moment??”
minho nudge you on the elbow, nodding as if to tell you to go ahead so you stood up and followed chan outside the cafeteria
when you’re outside chan faces you with a bothered look
“I’m so sorry for what people are saying about us I’m pretty sure it was mina she usually gossips a lot to her friends but I didn’t expect her to tell them that we’re dating just bc you came yesterday-”
chan was now rambling his apologies just like you did last night he looked cute like that btw
“it’s ok chan!! I’m sure you didn’t mean for that to happen”
chan was relieved when he heard that but he looked like he was still bothered by something
so being the sweetheart you are you asked him what it is ^~^
“can I ask you a favor??” he look uncertain so normally you were concerned
so you nod because !!!!
chan is worried !!!!
so it has to be something big !!!!
“i know this is probably going to be weird bc we just met last night and we’re not that close but-” chan look at your eyes to see if you still want him to continue so you nod at him
“c-can we please date?? but like fake dating and all?? i thought about it and it would really help me avoid those girls who wanted me in their bed and don’t worry i’ll pay you back! i swear-”

you yelped, cheeks burning bright from chan’s offer

“i-im fine with it but why me tho??” bc you’re cute and awesome y/n (゚ヮ゚)
your cheeks became even more red than possible when chan gave you cute smile

BANG CHAN U BITCH
Y/N???

you can feel your heart fluttering from his confession definitely not because he was looking at you with a fond smile and soft caring eyes hnghn
“so, are you in?"
with your trembling weak heart you nodded, knees weakening when he beamed at you and his mother fucking cute dimples showed
you’re doomed :’))
"great! I’ll see you later then”
later?? o-O??
“um what for??”
he chuckled at your confused lil face and patted your head

Tumblr media
You shut your eyes tight when you feel Jungkook’s body slightly shift next to yours. Either he was a wild sleeper, or both him and yourself couldn’t sleep. But neither one of you says anything to each other. If you were honest with yourself, you hated that you had sex with Jungkook. Yes, it was arguably the best sex you had ever had, but it didn’t deter you from the fact that it was morally wrong. You chew on your bottom lip as your brain races, nothing making sense, you want to get up from the bed and ran away. Run as fast as you can but what difference would that make really? What’s done is done. It was consensual, something you both had wanted, and now that it’s over you feel sick. You can’t help but wonder if Jungkook feels the same way you do. You know he wouldn’t leave his fiance for you, and besides, that isn’t something that had ever crossed your mind. So, you could bet your life that he didn’t want that either. Jungkook snuggles up closer to you and begins to snore softly; you figure he’s probably comfortable now. This isn’t a bed Jungkook is used to sleeping in. One can assume he rests in a much more expensive, much larger bed than your own. Jungkook’s lips trace the crevice between your neck and collar bone, ticking you. You try your best to move further closer to the edge of the bed but, Jungkook who is most likely not fully asleep just yet groans, loud, might you add and the sound rings in your ears. So used to it being silent for the past hour, expect for Jungkook’s occasional snore. Jungkook smacks his lips to together, gathering saliva to wet his dry mouth. You try to slow your breathing to try tricking him into thinking you’re sleeping.
You don't understand why you’re acting this way if you were uncomfortable you could kick him out. Indeed this is your home. But apart of you likes that Junkook is still here, still holding you, strong arms snaked around you as if he was the one afraid you’d leave him. You hadn’t had a man touch you this way in so long, Jungkook’s affection blinded you and even when you caught wind of how treacherous the situation was becoming you welcomed said danger with opened arms. You could have said no. You had several opportunities to do so and yet you did the complete opposite. Situations like this only end in despair. Moreover, in your case, it could end in losing your job, being homeless or even having to move back home and move in with your parents. You grimace at the fact.
“Please, for the love of God stop moving y/n.” You hear behind you, and your eyes shoot open. You couldn’t possibly be making that many movements for Jungkook to pick up on that fast. You close your eyes again and pray he lets it go.
Jungkook shifts and this time you can tell he got up from the bed. You hear him stretch and yawn, extremely obnoxiously, and for a second you wonder to yourself if he did it to be annoying or because he’s just that much of an ass in the wee hours of the morning. Jungkook is still butt ass naked and for some reason that annoys you more. You don’t even walk around your place naked.
“Want something from the kitchen?” Jungkook ask you, and you’re so damn tempted to turn around to look at him, but you resist, still wanting him to think you are asleep. He huffs and you know he still doesn’t quite believe you're sleeping but, for the time being, it would do. You breathe a sigh of relief once you hear his footsteps tracking down the hallway towards your tiny kitchen, and now you kind of really regret not asking him to grab you a bottle of water from your fridge. With Jungkook now being out of the room, you move your duvet aside and get out if bed, slowly tip-toeing as not to alert Jungkook that you are awake as he had previously suspected. You reach your dresser and pull out a nightie, something you don't usually wear, but you'd rather not have Jungkook see you in your regular sleepwear; which are old dingy sweatpants and a way too big tee.
It's quite dark in your room, only light from the hallway slowly seeping through the crack in your door. You couldn't see much but can quickly dress and promptly crawl back into bed.  By the time you've secured your duvet in walks Jungkook. You close your eyes tight again and relax your shoulders when he too gets back into bed. He doesn't say another word, and soon you hear his breathing even out.
Your alarm is loud as fuck. You nearly fall out of bed when you finally notice that it isn't apart of your dream, or should you say nightmare, but it is indeed time for you to adult today. You had gotten no sleep last night, and you feel shitty. Your head ached, and your muscles were tense. You turn to your side and see Jungkook is no longer in bed and his clothes are gone as well. You don't know how to feel about him being gone so soon, and you can't help but wonder what time he could have gotten up. You would have heard him leave, right? He wouldn't just up and go without saying anything. He's the type to at least leave a note on a girls nightstand after a one night stand. At least you think he is. But your judgment shouldn't be trusted seeing as you also thought Jungkook wasn't the type to hook up with an employee.
Groaning you step out of bed and turn off your alarm. It's 9:00 am, which means you need to get ready and be out of your door within the next hour. The last few days that Jungkook had been staying with you he advised you to stay home since you would have no use in the office without him. He said he was going to take a few days off from work, which fucking surprised you because The Jeon Jungkook doesn't do work breaks. Staying home was boring as fuck, the occasional flirty conversation with Jeon was fun but, Jungkook mostly stayed on his phone and rarely left your apartment.
The plus side was he did cook and did the dishes and cleaned up after himself like the gentleman that you knew was in him all along. Jungkook wasn't a bad guy, but sometimes he just wasn't the best guy.  He had a short fuse, and in the small amount of time he crashed on your couch, and an even shorter time on your bed, you saw just how angry he could get, small or big, and yet you were more than fine putting up with it. You weren't sure if it was because he was your boss and you were afraid of being fired if you got to loose-lipped or if you were growing a soft spot for the guy, you prayed it wasn't the latter.
Finally deciding what to wear today you get dressed and call a cab. You usually take the bus to work in the early mornings but because the weather forecast says it's none stop rain with a possibility of thunderstorms it's best to play it safe today. Besides, you spent a significant amount of time on your hair and makeup today. Just because you feel like hell doesn't mean you want to look it as well.
You walk into your office feeling like a nervous klutz, your palms sweaty, pits itch, the whole nine. You'd been here for 20 minutes waiting for Jungkook to call or at least walk in to tell you his next 'order' and he hasn't. Typically, he at least has some task waiting for you at your desk. Hell, sometimes he's waiting for you inside of your office before you even get there for a quick briefing. So him not making his appearance known is... unsettling. You pace around, your hands covering your face. Your stomach grumbles from the lack of food this morning. You thought having a cup of black coffee for breakfast was a great idea at the time. You were running low on cash so you couldn't stop to get anything on your way here. Ugh, the day was looking to be more and more frustrating.
Two hours pass and Jungkook still hasn't shown up to your office. You scroll on your Twitter and Instagram feed for the 100th time, sighing when you notice your mutuals aren't as active during the morning as they are in the late afternoon and early evenings. You wanted to bang your head on your desk from the anger that has started to boil inside you, Where the fuck could he be? What an asshole. You stand up from your desk chair and decide to make the first move, and that move is heading straight to Jungkook's office. The only time you've been in his office is if he calls you in, which has been less than ten times since you've started this position. You hadn't minded that much about it. A man's office is his personal space, you guess. Jungkook's office isn't too far from yours; it's just a few steps away from your very own much smaller one.
Standing in front of his office door has your heart thumping loud. You're nervous, again for the second time today and it does nothing more than to annoy you further. All you needed to see was if Jungkook was in his office or not and if not then you'd be taking your merry ass on your way. You open the door to Jungkook's office and step inside and what you see makes the blood in your veins completely freeze, actually maybe you freeze altogether.
There's a woman in Jungkook's office; actually, it isn't just any woman. You recognize her as the one from those pictures, his fiance, and he's kissing her. They haven't noticed that you were behind them and you sure as hell don't want to make your presence known. You want to turn around and exit, to pretend like you never came into his office in the first place.  You'd been standing there for 30 seconds too long, and when you belatedly decide to leave, Jungkook turns around to face you. Your eyes bulge out if you head and you can tell he looks slightly mortified that you'd 'caught' him but soon that look of shame leaves his face altogether and anger replaces it.
Jungkook doesn't even give you enough time to let you explain yourself before he's excusing himself from his finance and dragging you somewhat roughly out of his room. He's pissed but rightfully, so are you. You've been here for almost 3 hours already, and he still hasn't given you anything to do. If you knew he was in his office this entire time sucking face with his fiance, then you would have just called in sick or some shit. You feel like the absolute worse human on the planet, when did you become a whore? Okay, whore is a harsh word, but still, you had sex with your boss, your taken boss, your soon to be married with 3 and a half kids boss; alright, that last part you're not so sure about, but your point still stands. You're as much of dick as Jungkook is. Maybe you're an even bigger one.
"What the fuck were you doing in my office?" Jungkook is seething, and the grip on your arm has only gotten tighter. He makes you feel like a child again. Like he didn't just fuck your brains out less than 24 hours ago. The thought only makes you feel guilty. You are silent for a moment, and Jungkook's eyes only get wider as he awaits your answer. You stumble over words in your head, trying to piece things together but your brain is ultimately failing you when you need it the most. "Are you fucking dense? You can't just walk into my office whenever you feel like it." If this were anyone else you'd have kicked their ass by now, but this is Jungkook, your boss and you've learned to bite your tongue when he gets this way.
"So what, you're gonna stay silent the whole time?" You open your mouth to say something finally, but he cuts you off. "Fine then. Get your shit and go home." He deadpans. Wait, for what? "But I haven't even worked half a shift today I-," "Don't care. Out. Now." You wanted to cry, and you never cry. Okay, so maybe you always cry, but this was so uncalled for. You look up at Jungkook, silently pleading for him to let you stay. He was so vague with you, and you weren't sure if he was firing you or just making you leave for the day.  Either way, it was enough for you to drop your head in embarrassment. You mumble an okay, and Jungkook releases your arm. He doesn't say another word and so your spin on your heels and walk to your office to gather your purse and coat. You were sure that if he fired you, he'd outright say so. But you being dismissed early kind of feels worse honestly.  It feels like the walk of shame, and you had nothing to be ashamed about. You hate being unproductive at work and you thought going into Jungkook's office was a great idea. You guessed it would show initiative. That'd you cared deeply about your work. But it didn't seem to appease him; it was the absolute opposite. He's annoyed and specifically with you.
The ride home takes forever. The traffic is terrible around this time. Honestly, you thought the rain would slow the commuters today, but it seems not to hinder them from their daily lives and duties. The rain has eased somewhat but you know soon it will pick up again. At least you can get some more much-needed sleep when you get home or order some takeout since you had little to no food to eat. The rain does distract you from Jungkook for awhile and that you are appreciative for.
You immediately kick off your heels when you enter your apartment and throw your coat on your couch. You know you need a shower, but for now, you want to lounge around. You step into your room and flip your light switch, quickly changing into something less constricting like this pencil skirt that's a size too small for you. You jump into bed after you've put your work clothes in your hamper. Something isn't right because as soon as you land on the side Jungkook was previously laying on the night before a sharp object pierces your ribs. Wincing, you roll over closer toward the edge and pull your duvet back reviling a very shiny, expensive looking Rolex. You pick it up to inspect and roll on your back. Holding it into the air so the light can hit it correctly and you watch as it shines. It's beautiful, and you think it might be custom made. How the fuck can someone afford a gold encrusted watch? Well, that rich bastard Jungkook could. You wonder if Jungkook has noticed that he left it here. Hopefully, you pray he doesn't think you stole it from him. You set the watch on your nightstand and decide to worry about what to do with it later. Shit, you might even toss it in the bin. Serves the bastard right.
You awaken from a nap a few hours later. Going by the time displayed on the digital clock on your nightstand you slept for a good five hours.
You order yourself lunch on your laptop from your favorite takeout place. The restaurant wasn't too far from you so it won't take very long for the delivery driver to show up. You head into your living room to go searching for your cellphone. You usually take it everywhere with you but, because you were so bummed about the Jungkook situation you decided to leave it in your bag.
You had a few unread messages, some from your mom. She frequently texts you during your work hours because of the time difference. It must be nighttime where she is right now. You miss being home, a lot, if you were truthful with yourself. Things were so much different back there, and you were still trying to get accustomed to the life you have here. You would probably be in an excellent relationship by this time if you never left. The guys from your city weren't all bad. There's going to be a few bad apples everywhere you go. You sigh and quickly text your mother back and tell her how your day went, albeit leaving the part where you were sent home early out.
The next few notifications you scrolled through were emails from your Gmail app, as dull as ever. You managed a lot of Jungkook's events and meetings through Gmail, so most of your notifications were mostly work related. You put your phone aside and flop on your couch and start up Netflix.
The takeout you had wasn't as good as it usually is. Today was the perfect day to cry and crawl under your cover for the rest of your days. No one would even notice you were gone besides your parents, but after a while, they'd give up looking for you and go on with their lives. You figure now is the best time to take another nap before you something else uneventful happens. And you're sure your heart couldn't take anymore before it completely stops functioning altogether.
You jolt from your sleep when you hear it. Banging. And it's close, almost like it's coming from right outside of your door. It's loud a fuck and its dark as fuck in your living room, and you can't help but think this is how it ends. You still, too afraid to get up from your couch to check it out. You've watched enough scary movies to know that if you open that door, then you'll be walking into your ultimate demise. This is exactly what your father warned you about when you told him you were moving to South Korea.
"Y/n, open the door I know you're in there," huh? The killer knows your name. "Y/n, come on it's me." Is that... Jungkook? You wipe the saliva from your face and rub the sleep from your dry eyes. What the hell is he doing here? It's 9 in the evening. You turn the lights on so you can see better and unlock the door to see what it is he wants.
"I left my watch here," he says offhandedly and pushes past you heading for your bedroom. "Excuse the fuck outta me." You whisper under your breath. You fold your arms over your chest and follow Jungkook into your bedroom.
He's searching every nook of your room and muttering. You're confident he won't find it at the rate he's going because he hasn't even turned the light on yet. To make this more comfortable for the both of you, he could just ask you if you've seen it. But honestly, you like seeing him struggle, fuck him.
You switch the light on since you're standing right next to it. You just want Jungkook out of your place as soon as possible. You notice he's wearing a completely different suit than the one he had on earlier at the office. As he spins to turn towards you, you see a Chanel brooch on his jacket. How funny, Jeon Jungkook looking for his gold-encrusted custom Rolex in your home while wearing a Dior suit and a diamond Chanel brooch. Your broke ass could never.
Jungkook's hair is slightly parted, and you don't think he's ever looked this good before. Well, he always looks good but right now it's a different type of good. He looks like money and power and you know he probably smells so pure. His beauty always has you at a loss for words.
He notices your staring and scoffs to himself, almost like he's disgusted either at you or himself. And you're more than confident it's directed towards you. Jungkook has everything any man could ever ask for, and he had sex with you, the bottom of the barrel trash. You lower your head in humiliation, and you've never felt this bad about yourself before. You can't help but feel so inferior to him. You're only a few years apart in age, but he's got his whole life together, while you still ask your parents for money from time-to-time when you're afraid you won't make ends meet. You did something so heinous, and now Jungkook can't even stand to look at you correctly.
"Have you seen my watch or what? Don't just fucking stand there, help." He addresses you with such anger and disgust you almost burst out into tears. You point to where you had left the watch, which was on your nightstand and you hear Jungkook walk over and damn near snatch it. He mumbles some more as he wrestles with putting it on and you can tell he's having a hard time. This is the first time you've ever seen him, so ansty and he looks nervous as well. He must have a big meeting or something because why else would he be dressed like this. You walk over to help him, and you're not sure why but you can tell he needs it, and he lets you. You see him visibly relax, and that soothes you somewhat. You're still scared out of your wits, but it isn't like he's about to murder you. At least you hope he isn't.
"I'm sorry about everything, I wish circumstances were different." You look up at Jungkook, and he gives you a sad smile. What does he mean by that? His engagement or your employment. Maybe both? You stare up at him for a while. Pleading with your eyes to get an explanation from him.
You aren't sure who makes the moves first, but in a matter of seconds, his lips are on yours.

Secrets IV (Modern!Ivar/Reader)
A/N: I wanted to post this yesterday, but I had to rewrite it because I didn’t like what I had done... I’m still not happy with this result, but I don’t know what to change anymore 😂 I tried to fix it at the end, but I don’t know if it worked.
Thanks for all the messages and the support, you are the best💞 I hope you like this one!
Inspiration: This work was inspired by Griffenholm Confessionals a work by @laketaj24 @akamaiden @ivarsshieldmadien @ivarswickedqueen
Warnings: A bit of smut, Ivar is an asshole again, mentions of sex and violence, the Lothbroks are a warning themselves.
Words: 2966
Part 1  Part 2 Part 3
Tumblr media
gif isn’t mine
Ivar grabbed your hips, thrusting into you faster and faster, grunting into your ear. You arched your back, moaning loudly and closing your eyes. You were so close... His lips hovered over your neck, and suddenly you felt him biting your neck and gasped. Your nails dig on his shoulders, pulling his body closer to yours. The muscles of his back moved under your fingers. It was delicious.
You moaned his name clenching your legs around his waist. God, his voice sounded even better when he moaned into your ear.
And then you woke up.
It was the middle of the night, and you were sweating, panting and tangled in your sheets. Oh fuck.
You couldn't believe you dreamed with Ivar.
You unlocked your phone. It was three in the morning, and you didn't feel like going back to sleep.
Elise was sound asleep, and you couldn't just wake her up to talk to her... And of course you couldn't tell her you had a wet dream with Ivar.
You got up from your bed, taking a hoodie and your warm, furry boots. It was cold outside, but as hot as you were in that moment, you could have been in shorts in the middle of the North Pole.
You walked out of the room, putting on your hoodie and closing the door behind you. You really needed to cool down.
__________________________
"I've been trying to go to bed with her for a month, Ubbe, a fucking month" Hvitserk groaned "And the closest I got was touching her breasts under her shirt... I feel like I'm fifteen again"
"Thank god, finally one smart girl" Ubbe laughed "She probably knows you're an asshole, and that's why she's making it more difficult"
"That's why I have to go with Margrethe at least twice a week... I have my needs and she's not fulfilling them"
"She's not a machine whose only purpose in life is 'fulfilling your needs', Hvitserk"
He sighed, rubbing his eyes.
"Could you please shut up?" Ivar groaned from his bed "It's three in the morning, go to sleep"
"I can't sleep, Ivar, I'm horny"
"Ubbe, hold him down while I cut off his dick, let's see if he's horny after that"
"Ivar, no threats past midnight"
"I'm gonna text her" Hvitserk took out his phone, unlocking it.
"I'm sure she's asleep" Ubbe raised a brow "Like normal people"
Ivar clenched his jaw, looking at the ceiling from his bed. He had spent the last three weeks looking at you. He even had problems to concentrate in Old Norse Mythology, his favorite class, that day you decided to wear your skirt a bit higher than usual. He had noticed the way you licked your lips before answering a question in class, and how you frowned and bit your lip in maths, whenever you didn't understand what the teacher was saying (which was, honestly, every single class). He had noticed your stares, too, and that was what bothered him the most. Surely, you looked at him with pity. Poor little Ivar, who cannot walk.
He didn't like it. He hated the way you managed to get all his attention by only entering the room. The only time he had felt something like that was with Freydis... But you weren't her, you weren't his beautiful Freydis... He couldn't possibly like you.
The fact that the last time he saw you you were in bed with his brother, with Hvitserk's hand under your skirt and your disheveled hair and swollen lips, panting and trying to fix your shirt, blushing when he entered the room... Didn't help.
Besides, he had to be focused. He had to help his father with those new alliances he was making in England as his older brother Björn was too busy traveling around southern Europe, Ubbe wasn't too interested in the family business, Hvitserk had his head in other things (usually, between Margrethe's legs) and Sigurd... Well, Sigurd in his opinion was stupid so he wouldn't be really useful.
The future of his family depended on him, and he needed to have a cleared mind.
"Don't tell her to come here" Ivar scoffed, turning around in his bed to face the window.
"Why do you hate Y/N so much?" Ubbe seemed amused "She never did anything to you, she was actually really nice"
"That's why, she's too nice, we shouldn't trust her"
"She is the one who shouldn't trust us" Ubbe replied, sighing.

"Another party?" You frowned, looking at Elise as she applied some make up "How many parties do they do?"
"They've only done two this year... Hasn't Hvitserk told you?"
"He texted me earlier but I didn't read his message" you shrugged "I think I'm staying here tonight"
"Why?" Elise stopped and looked at you, pouting "You said the same last time and you ended up having the best time ever" she smirked "Come on, Y/N!"
"I just don't feel like partying tonight, and I should study a bit"
"Are you seriously studying on a Friday night?"
You sighed, taking your textbooks out and sitting on your bed.
"What about Hvitserk?" She insisted "Are you going to leave him alone?"
"I'm sure he'll survive" you raised a brow.
The truth was, you had been avoiding him since you had that dream with Ivar. You felt really bad, hooking up with one brother and dreaming about fucking the other, and you hated that, whenever Hvitserk kissed you and you closed your eyes, you thought about Ivar.
"Are you seriously not coming?" asked Elise, biting her lip.
"No, go and have fun" you smiled "And if Hvitserk asks, just tell him I needed to catch up with maths"
"Okay... Can I borrow your blue top?"
______________________________
23:00. You hadn't been studying for more than an hour and you were already bored as fuck.
You unlocked your phone, sighing, maybe if you took a break...
Y/N, princess, are you coming to the party tonight?♥️
Come on, Y/N, come with me
I don't want to be alone tonight baby :(
I miss you
You bit your lip, feeling like the worst person in the world. How could you be obsessed with his brother when he was that cute with you?
And you had avoided him for days, not ever answering his texts... He had been really nice since you arrived, and you probably should give him some explanation.
Surely, you'd feel better.
Sighing, you closed the book, getting up and opening the wardrobe, taking out some hoodie and a pair of jeans.
Okay, Y/N, you go, you talk to Hvitserk and you leave, you thought while taking off your pajamas and getting dressed. Don't drink.
The night was cold, and you shivered a little while you walked to the house. There was people drinking everywhere, and you honestly couldn't understand how could they be outside with that cold.
Inside, you started looking for Hvitserk, which would probably be difficult because you could swear that the entire school was there.
You saw Ubbe with Sigurd and some friends, but no trace of Hvitserk.
"Y/N!" You heard your name, and turned around to face a very drunk Elise, dressed on your blue top and with a beer on her hand "You came! Let me guess, Hvitserk convinced you" she giggled, winking at you.
"Something like that, yeah" you smiled "Have you seen him? I'm looking for him but I can't find him"
"I saw him going upstairs" she drunkenly leaned into you so you could hear her over the loud music "But be careful, Ivar is upstairs too"
You smiled and thanked her.
"See you later, have fun" she winked at you and let you go, giggling.
No one dared to go upstairs, where it was said that the Lothbroks had some rooms for when they brought their flings. There was an empty corridor, with some doors at both sides. You couldn't hear anything, and you weren't going to start opening the doors randomly to try and find Hvitserk.
Biting your lip, you took out your phone and unlocked it, opening Hvitserk's contact.
Where are you?
You waited some minutes, but he didn't reply. He was probably drunk, maybe smoking with Ivar in some room.  Maybe if you walked next to the doors you could hear them...
Finally, behind the last door of the corridor, you heard voices. Ivar's voice.
He was speaking danish, and he sounded angry, as always. You pressed your ear against the door, trying to find out if he was talking to Hvitserk.
"Well I don't have time to deal with that, kill him and end of it" Ivar changed to English.
"It's not that simple, Ivar, if Aelle finds out that we have killed him..." another man, whose voice you didn't recognize, replied him.
"What is he gonna do? He's just a boy, and he's trying to fuck with us, deal with him, teach Aelle I'm not my father"
"I think that a simple warning would make him learn his lesson"
"Fine, don't kill him, but I want him in the hospital tomorrow morning"
You froze. What was he talking about? Who was that man?
I hope this is a fucking prank, you thought, feeling a bit dizzy.
During the last month, you had heard rumors about the Lothbroks; you'd heard that they were involved with the mafia, that they had deals with very dangerous people, that they trafficked with weapons and drugs... But you didn't really believed them. How could Ubbe and Hvitserk, as nice as they were, be involved with those things?
The smartest thing would have been going downstairs, go back to the school and sleep, forget about that conversation and try to talk to Hvitserk.
But no, you couldn't move.
"Okay, I'll let you know when..."
Then a loud noise startled you. It was like something had fallen down. Immediately, the voices in the room stopped, and you looked down, gasping when you saw that your phone had slipped out of your hoodie's pocket, and was now on the floor.
You picked it up quickly, but before you could turn around and run away, the door opened and you found yourself face to face with a really angry Ivar, glaring at you.
He grabbed your arm roughly, shoving you inside the room and slamming the door closed.
Hvitserk wasn't in the room, and the man you had heard talking to Ivar was with his arms crossed and smirking down at you.
"What the fuck are you doing here?" Ivar yelled at you shoving you against the wall, with a threatening glare.
"You're the worst spy I've ever seen, love" the man laughed. He was blonde and had long hair, and was even a bit taller than Ivar.
"I... Was looking for Hvitserk" you tried to escape Ivar's grip.
He snatched your phone from your shaking hand, ignoring your protests.
"She wasn't recording" Ivar relaxed a bit, tossing it across the room.
"Why would I record? I didn't understand half of the things you said" you protested, glaring at him.
"And why were you listening, hm?" His blue eyes were fixed on yours.
"Ivar, I have to go, I'll call you later... Go easy on her" the blonde man chuckled, winking at you before disappearing through the door, closing it.
"I was just looking for Hvitserk, I swear, I didn't mean to..."
"Well he's not here, were your parents too busy ignoring you to teach you that it's really rude to eavesdrop another people's conversation?"
You clenched your jaw, glaring at him.
"You are an asshole"
He smirked at your reaction, finally letting go of your arm. You rubbed your wrist, still glaring at him and looking around the room.
It looked like a normal room, with a single bed, a wardrobe and a table. On the table there were some papers, photos and... Was that a gun? Your eyes widened, and you stepped back, trying to get to the door.
"Where do you think you're going?" Ivar sat on the bed, leaving his crutch on the floor next to him.
"Downstairs, I am going back to the school"
"Do you really think I'm going to let you go this easy after finding you outside this room and listening to a private conversation?"
You tensed up, eyeing the gun. Ivar followed your eyes and laughed when he saw the gun.
"Don't worry" he took it, making you flinch "That would be just in case you can't keep your mouth shut" he put in inside one drawer, closing it.
You relaxed a bit, but still tried to get as far away from him as you could.
"Ivar, I won't say anything, no one would believe me anyway" you sighed "Just let me go, please"
He sighed, licking his lips and smiling softly.
"Come here, Y/N"
Oh, he knows my name, you thought, sarcastically.
You approached him slowly. He rolled his eyes impatient, and reached to grab your hoodie and pull you closer to him, making you gasp and put your hands on his shoulders to avoid falling down on top of him.
You gulped. It was the closest you had been to him, and you couldn't help but blush furiously when you remembered the last dream you had with him.
His hands went to the back of your knees, making you sit on his lap, straddling him.
He looked so damn good, with his beautiful eyes lit up with mischief, a smile on his swollen lips and his hands on your waist, keeping you in place.
"My brother told me you wouldn't let him in your bed yet" he whispered, tilting his head to one side "Poor Hvitserk, he's suffering... Don't you feel bad for him?"
"Ivar..."
"Why?" He licked his lips "No one has ever resisted my brother's charms" he said in a mocking tone.
"It's none of your business" you glared at him.
"What you heard earlier was none of your business either" he pressed his lips together "And you did it anyway..."
"I'm sorry, I didn't mean to, just let me go" you tried to get up, but he kept you in place.
"I need to make sure you won't say anything" he replied, and before you could react, Ivar pressed his forehead against yours "And then you can go back to tease my brother's cock"
Before you could smack his head away and tell him to fuck off, he kissed you, hard.
You moaned almost immediately, closing your eyes and kissing him back. You felt him smirk into the kiss and as much as you wanted to whip that smile off of his lips, his mouth pressed against yours felt amazing.
It was even better than your dream.
His hands grasped your ass, making you grind against him, as he broke the kiss and his lips descended down your neck, nibbling and sucking at your soft spot. You tried your best to avoid moaning, but it was too much.
His hands roamed over your body, under your hoodie. He massaged your breasts and smirked when you gasped.
"Let's see if you let me go a bit more far than my brother" he muttered into your ear, his fingertips traveling down your belly and unbuttoning your jeans.
He put his hand inside your jeans, making you moan loudly.
The smartest thing would have been to smack his hand away, get up and walk out of the room.
But you weren't being really smart that night.
His fingers put your underwear aside, caressing your sex and pressing down on your clit. You moaned again, closing your eyes and moving your hips against his hand.
And then he introduced two of his glorious fingers into you.
You gasped, tangling your hands into his hair and biting your lip. Ivar groaned, biting your neck roughly and making you whimper in pain.
"You're tight..." He growled "Hvitserk would love this"
You wanted to protest, but you couldn't even speak.
His thumb massaged your clit as he curled his fingers, reaching your g-spot and making you cry out.
"Can you take another one?" He whispered against your lips "Or are you too tight?"
You tensed up when he inserted a third finger into you, stretching your walls. You gasped in pain, but pressed your body closer to him, still moving your hips.
"Very good, love" he kissed you again, thrusting his fingers inside you slowly, and you moaned in reply.
You were close. It was too soon, but you had wanted him for too long, and his husky and deep voice whispering into your ear, encouraging you to moan louder and louder for him.
And just when you were about to cum, legs shaking and walls starting to clench even more, he stopped.
You gasped, pouting and glaring at him.
"Promise me you won't say anything" he told you grabbing your face and making you look at him "You will forget about what you heard earlier, won't you?"
"I won't tell anyone" you promised, whining "I will forget everything please just... Let me..." You moved your hips again, making him chuckle.
"What do you want, Y/N?"
"Make me cum" you begged "Please, Ivar..."
"You're so needy" he started thrusting his fingers again, rubbing your clit roughly.
You came moaning his name, arching your back and moving your hips desperately.
Ivar helped you ride the orgasm, and then he took out his fingers, putting them in his mouth and sucking on them while looking straight into your eyes.
You blinked, still dizzy, and licked your lips just before he kissed you again. You could taste yourself on his tongue.
"Good girl, Y/N" he whispered, smiling "Now leave and forget about everything... Hvitserk's in other room, but I think he's not alone so.. Be careful".

Before leaving I’ll post an Ivar x Reader requested by @tephi101 (and I’ll try and post all of your ideas and requests in the following weeks💕)
